hi i have recently bought the super pad III and have been trying to get the internet to work on it, at first it refused to recognise my ethernet cable when attached, now it finally lets me download from the android market but none of the downloads work. the manual says when i insert the ethernet cable it should come up with a symbol saying "eth" but it does not and i am still unable to do anything with the wifi with or without the wire attached as when i try clicking on wifi or wifi set up nothing happens. Any suggestions or anyone else having the same issues?????

The vanishing apps is a known problem. Your internal tf card has gone read only. There is a command that is run in a terminal emulator that might 'fix' it but it can only be regarded as temporary. In view of your tablets model number I would suggest you either send it back as faulty or open it up and change the internal tf card for a higher quality one. This will invalidate the warranty, but if you want to take this route there are some guidelines HERE. Once you have fitted a new tf card you will have to re-flash the tablet. I suggest you look HERE for Tims latest firmware for DISCO10 tablets. Read the Tips first!!
Market will be limited as the tablets are not Google approved. Install dropbox and buy/get your apps from Market via your android mobile, then you can copy them to the tablet.

Go to menu/settings/ethernet configuration/ and ensure that there is NO tick in the ethernet box, then look on the top of the tablet and ensure the wifi on/off slide switch is set to ON, go to menu/settings/wireless & networks/ and put a tick in the wi-fi box, it should say 'turning on' .If you select wi-fi settings you should see the available wifi networks in range of your tablet, sometimes the wifi adapters in these tablets are very poor range, so get quite close to your router to see if it is working. Once you see the wifi network you want to connect to select it and type in the encryption key.....

I have the exact same issue. When I turn on my wifi it turns on and then after a minute or so it says "unable to scan networks" and then automatically turns itself off. I've tried with both open and private netoworks, on multiple routers, and even sitting right on top of the router. I saw on another forum something about rooting it and deleting some file. I rooted it and looked for that file but it wasn't there. Is there anyway I can at least tell whether its hardware or software.

Those are exactly the symptoms you will get if the physical wifi on/off switch is in the off position, so check that first. If that is on then it sounds like your wifi module isn't working so your options are either send it back as faulty or invalidate your warranty and open it up and investigate. I guess the deletion of the file you mention will just delete the retained connection information, allowing you to set the encryption up again with different info, but the symptoms of that are different, it will find wifi signals and attempt to connect, only to fail, the wifi won't turn itself off.
If you cannot see anything amiss with the wiring of the wifi module you could try an external usb wifi dongle, but you need to know which chipset your wifi module is using, you can find that out either by running lsusb in an terminal emulator or opening up the tablet and looking on the wifi module, you could then buy an external wifi dongle that utilises the same chipset and plug it in one of the usb ports.

With my wifi switch off if I click wi-fi (turn on Wi-Fi) it doesn't do anything. When I turn on the switch it shows Wi-Fi as turning on but then does the "unable to scan for networks" and then turns back off. So I guess the physical switch is working but that's really all I know.
When you say wifi module are you talking about hardware or software?
I do have an external wifi dongle I could try. The unit is rooted and i have a terminal but I can't get many linux commands to work. Do I need to add a bin path to the path to get them to work. su works fine and I'm using "Better Terminal Emulator Pro" but lsusb and most other commands say command not found.

My tablet behaves differently. With the switch off - select turn on wifi, the text changes to turning on wifi, after a few seconds the green tick appears and "scanning" is shown, after 10 seconds "unable to scan for networks" is shown for a few seconds, followed by "turning off" and then the green tick vanishes. With the switch set to on, it follows the same sequence until, after "scanning" it finds several networks and displays them. If I have previously connected to one of them it automatically connects to that network.
The wifi module inside the FT3 is actually the innards from an usb wifi dongle that has had its usb socket removed and the module has been hard wired to the system PCB.
lsusb is found in busybox 1.19. If you have titanium pro backup utility then you will have busybox installed already, it is usually installed in /system/bin/ or possibly /system/xbin/ The older versions of busybox (1.16) didn't have lsusb.
BE ADVISED.... I tried 3 times to update busybox from 1.16 to 1.19 on my tablet running Tims 4d, and each time it screwed up root access such that reflashing was required to rectify the problem. If you have Tims 6a then I think you will have busybox 1.19 and therefore lsusb.
If you cd to /system/bin (or possibly /system/xbin ) and type busybox you should see the version number of busybox you have, and the available commands contained within.
I have just discovered...in /system/bin I have a lsmod command that displays rt2070sta on the first line, which is the wifi module that has been loaded. not quite the same as the chipset reported in lsusb

I just got mine last week and was unable to root it using any of the methods I found using google. I finally was able to root it using GingerBreak.

Hi all, just bought a "Superpad III 4g says it's Android 2.3 on home screen.
I've managed to root it with "Gingerbreak" found on xda-developers site.
I did this before adding "Launcher pro" and enabling USB debugging and it worked,
Scary moments though (took a long long time to boot after rooting) I suggest looking at Compubytes post regarding enabling USB debugging! I wish I had but all's OK have superuser installed along terminal emulator. Still on a steep learning curve and not ready to ROM yet still working on getting a Huawie e200 working;-)
¿Can anyone tell me what the 4G means on the box because it's not got a slot for a mini SIM?
I'm confused.... this is my first tablet. When we ordered it was for a Flytouch 3. What I got came in a white box labeled Superpad 3. Here is my tabs info...

And we wonder why people in the main say "don't buy tablets & phones from China", it's not as if the tablet makers actually care what is inside the product - more about what it is named and see how many of the general public can be duped into buying a nice looking box with a fancy name. As for customer support, sorry - they don't do customer support, it's not even on their radar.
It really is very, very important now that the buying public really do their homework before parting with the their hard earned money.
I'd still rather run into difficulties with a Chinese tablet and phone, than buy anything made by Apple, Nokia, Sony, Samsung, etc. Once liberated, I will never go back to being a slave
After reading all of the this thread I have a couple of quick questions.
I have a SuperPad III
Model - Android Tab10
Ver - V2.3 2011-12-31 (001112)
Ker - V2.6.32.9 root@wanghua dekstop #504
Build FRF85B
Question 1:
To Tim or Not to Tim. Most people have gotten very positive results with the TIM roms. But I do not think they work for the Tab10s
Question 2:
If I TIM, just put the two files on the root of an MicroSD card and turn on the tablet?
Question 3:
GPS software I have found nothing that works (right now I am very happy with the tablet, it has met or exceeded expections for everything else I wanted). I read CoPilot8 works, again will this work with the Tab10?
I am new to the forums so please bare with me.
Got a superpad 3 cheap of a local guy and now I know why.
Wireless was working but no android store and it kept crashing so I did some research and flashed it with a rom I found and now the wireless does not work. No Mac address so from what I have read this firmware does not have the correct "drivers" as such. Can not install the Tim3a or 6a roms as someone has had at this before me and now it will only update with roms that contain a file called zsys.img and I have tried all the ones I can find. Can anyone please tell me how step by step to use a usb cable to wipe the dam thing so I will be able to use tim's roms and if this is not possible a work around.
Someone posted a link from one of the sellers of these superpad 3 and I have looked through every file on there with no luck.

yes...depending on which version of CoPilot you get..although I believe that the free maps are no-longer available...
igo8.4 works, and google maps of course!

These are the only details that do not change when I have tried custom roms.
Thanks

It sounds like you have flashed a bootloader that is not for your model of tablet and have now changed the way the tablet updates. The first time you flashed the tablet how did you do it? With a USB cable or with files on the external tf card?
Hiya I bought a second hand one of these yesterday, the girl said it was working perfectly fine when she had it (as you do) yet I set up a google account, download apps and games and set up wifi connection.. then when I turn it off and back on its deleted my google account, I have to re connect wifi and all my games and apps have been deleted, getting fed up with it this is the first android Iv had so have no idea what to do with it, Iv put a sd memory card into and tried doing it all again incase it was because It was out of memory and no the same thing happens Please helppp x
Hi everyone, newbie alert!!! I am going to look such an idiot here I know, but I have to try.....
I am as green as green can be on Android OS. I don't have a smartphone, am only used to PC’s with very limited knowledge. A few days ago I bought privately a (second hand - hardly used) android tablet on the spur of the moment, mainly because it was a good price and checking the website of the genuine version the website said it had GPS.
Having read your forum pages the next day (should have done that 1st) my brain was numb with jargon, and not really any further fwd and thinking I had bought some sort of monster which required a degree in computer science to get it to work
Yes, you guessed I have the Superpad 3 clone with 8Gb storage (5.96Gb available)
DISC010
2.2 system 20110529
Kernel 2.6.32.9 zjd@dtlinuxserver #19
FRF85B
Briefly,
The opening page has my correct location and I have managed to get the device to recognise where I live (not China) so GPS must be working.... (and for anyone who doubts, the device does not need to be connected to a Wi-Fi signal to get the GPS to work)
There are no instructions of course, and I have fumbled around trying things and am very much still learning of course but more than likely have missed lots of things just because I don't have much of a clue what i am doing.
There is no Micro SD card with the device and I do not have a USB thumbstick either.
It seems to me that one or both of these are pretty much essential if I want to get TIM's ROM... which by all accounts of your good selves is imperative. Ha listen to me, already I am talking about rooting and FAT32… the forum stuff must be sinking in.
Let me explain what I want from this device ideally:-
Movies for airline trips (whatever battery I got, seems OK and I think it would be good for say 3 hours at least)
GPS for satnav
Midi player app to link with my keyboard (music) via USB/MIDI cabling
Am I asking too much?
Anyway, back to basics. I thought I would get a Samsung 32Gb micro card class 10. Would you think that is a reasonable thing to do?
If I get a card I can then try to get Titanium back up (No idea how to use it even if I get it – is it obvious?) then a TIM ROM. Wow things change so fast, when I started reading the thread we were just at 3a, now at the end of the thread about a year later we are at 6a...TIM is a busy boy. What would you reccommend, I know 3a seems to have worked well for lots of you...?
So if I installed this root thing - instruction for that seems straightforward (thanks to Shane, Compubyte and others).. could I expect GPS to work with maybe co pilot 8 (seems to be the one to go for)? Not sure then about movies, I mean could I rip a DVD on my PC and put it onto the micro card... would that work when the android 'looked' at the card. Or is there a better way? I am really sorry for this simpleton stuff, I just don't have any ideas... The download link to a pdf file for Superpad 2 instructions is down, so I am really lost.
Another thing, I don't have a gmail account, do I need to set one up (on a PC or on the SP3)? to buy apps.
So to summarise, the Q’s are :
Which of TIM’s upgrades would you recommend for my system (link please if possible)
Do I need a Micro card first
Can I expect co pilot to work reasonably well as a satnav with a card installed
How do I get 3 or 4 films on to the system to play without Wi-Fi (on an airplane)
Do I need a gmail account (how to go about that)

Yes. I´ve the same problem. It came after upgrade to www.apad.tv+9v_600 rom.
Before when have original rom all was ok.!
Interested to go back to orig. rom again. Someone have this or link to DL??
I just one of the knockoff last week. I thought about sending it back, but it is a good cheap one for experimenting. It came with a little manual, apparently for some othe tablet. The touch screen is close to unusable with a finger. Plugging in a mouse made it a joy to use! Buy a cheap mouse, they will like each other. A stylus works okay too - I made a good one by flushing out a highlighter.
I have a few weeks of self-directed study. I've been designing and building embedded computers for a living; this is my first foray into android. I appreciate the comments.
if you cant watch movies from netflix your doing something wrong or your useing a old andriod os that cant do the job i got 4.0 on my super pad and it runs every movie steaming site out thar flawlessly and i can watch dvd,s and burn movies with my usb dvd player pluged into it plus i got 12 wireless ip cams with pan and tilt night vision all a round my house that the super pad controls any whar in the world the only problom i have is i cant get the gps to work i think i might have got a bad antenna cuz every thing seams to work just will not lock on to any satellites oh and cuz its only a 1 ghz single core cant play my township game on facebook that needs 1.5 ghz cpu or better will be getting a AsusTransformer Infinity TF700 i think it will run circles around any ipad and do more than any ipad if you know what to do with it hell its a 1.6 quad core with a 5th core that only runs on low apps that do not need much with a 12 core gpu ? it should be able to play 3d movies like a dream
I was thinking of getting the Flytouch Superpad 3 tablet but found too many negative reviews and comments about it. I know it is quite cheap but still not cheap enough to risk buying this tablet. I don't know if they have released a new model but hopefully they will and it's something with at least 1GB RAM and dual core processor.
I have a superepad III, not impressed with it at all. Very unresponsive. I have since bought an iPad, fair enough more expensive, but no comparison to the superpad.
