Hi all, I have prepared a new update.zip file specific for latest 20120529 ICS release.

This package will:
-change fingerprint line (for more apps on market...for example: Yamgo Tv)
-reset Play Store (data and cache)
-let us access to our own market (many thanks to gboijhpok and kwuw4sale)
-add 3 files .jar in "framework" folder (for more compatibility with some apps...for example: Tweetdeck)

Here is the link: update_fingerprint-tweak_and_market-resetter_for_ICS-0529.zip

Install as usual (in recovery mode, renaming it as update.img) or using the inbuilt
Upgrade app...then access directly to your own market.

I tried to find information about problems with updating to android 4.0? I have 310 model and tried to upgraded it and fail. Now I do not know what to do, the box does not show anything. Do somebody know how to reanimate my box? Thank you very much.

I assume that you have had a look around the Web for help.

I don't know your tablet, but I found this here that may be the same as yours:

Further the forum talks about reloading the firmware from a SD card but I did not follow through. You may be able to find specific forums and ask for help.

Ive now upgraded to 4.0 build 20120529 and applied the update above ( many thanks for that !! ) . Is there a way to view files on an external harddrive as when i plug it in no matter what file explorer i use i cannot find my usb drive. I plan to watch movies on it but am currently struggling !!

Have you tried ES File Explorer...click 'Favourites' button and you should other drives.

Hi,

So ive realised Es file explorer does pick it up , but it seems when i copy a file to the external harddrive and plug it into the box it recognises it and i can see the files , but then the external harddrive seems to corrupt you can no longer see the files or pick it up, and then when i plug it back into my pc i am forced to re-format it.

Has anyone else had this problem ?

Last week I bought ATV1000 and starightway upgraded to ICS4 online.Everything is

ok I can access google play.Flash palyer is 11.

I cannot able to play online movies and streaming(example-

I can paly this on my mobile which is ICS4.

Looks video is loading but before it starts it throws out to main screen of ATV1000

Can anybody suggest the solution and or try on your ATV1000 following links.

Okay I'm new here, so going to edit my own post about the XXXX29 version. For anyone having any issues with the network I suggest give your antenna a wiggle. This latest update ending in 29 is just what I have been looking for. I have updated flash to 11, ES file explorer works like a charm streaming from my WD live, Netflix, & Plex is back to its true form audio sync is spot on with everything I throw at it. That leaves me with 2 questions.
1. to whom is it that I need to send out a donation cause I have the media center in my Geniatech ATV1000 that I have wanted for ages and I haven't even tried NES or other game ROMS...my poor ps3 getting dusted.

2. Does anyone know if USB is fixed so I can skype with a cam to my family back in the US?

I use plex and have added unsupported channels ice streams and let me watch this. They are decent quality some are very high quality. Also there is an Ice Stream.apk floating around that works a treat as well. Good luck. and Hope this helps.

@Gorjo - i use the box mostly for streaming 720p-1080p (5-8bg file). dont use the box for browsing, cos its painfull...

@szemo77 - i would love one of this ATV1200-Enjoy TV Dual core. is this the fastest/most powerfull on the market at the moment?? btw, where to get one of this from? could not find any supplier(

I keep getting a failed update when I try the tweek (software not signed)

Further when I try to un-rar or unzip I get a broken file/file corrupt error.

I was going to recompile it.

Can someone check and re-upload. BTW I have downloaded it a number of times just in case.

Pls download the file. Rename the entire file and also change the file type. The file should now be called ' update.img' (image file now) . Put this update.img onto an sdcard and load it on your machine. Switch your machine off. Press the 'reset' button at the back of the box with a paper clip or pin and while pressing it , press the power button. This will switch your device into update mode and keep put buttons pressed while you see the screen starting the update process. Leave the buttons when it starts. Wait for few minutes until it updates and restarts itself. This will only update related parts on the box and not overwrite the entire firmware.


No need to unrar or unzip the file.This procedure applies to all updates.

Usual disclaimers apply !!!

(no need to re-upload).
I don't understand the reason of your issues...
You could try to download it from another PC...

Yes, I have tried several times to update and downloaded a number of times using both the inbuilt update app and the reset/power button methods but I still get a failed update with the following message:
.........
E. Failed to verify whole-file signature
E: Signature verification failed
.........

I un-rared it so that I could extract the components and use gio965's method to generate a new update.zip (post #1123 above).

During the un-rar I got the following messages:
1 CRC failed in 'META-INF\com\google\android\update-binary". File is broken
2 Data error in 'system\build.prop'. File is broken
3 Data error in 'system\framework\com.google.android.maps.jar'. File is broken

Can someone check and re-upload?

I would like to share another issue regarding my box (..yes .it is mentioned in my profile). I am using a plasma screen to watch videos. This screen is 2nd generation made in 2004 and has 1080i res thru DVI. I would not part with it due to picture performance and being built like a tank in Japan costing 12k when sold.

I had to take this box to my friends place for a demo . I put the display settings to 1080p at his house when connected due to capability of his screen. It worked okay with everything. Upon getting back home I could not get any picture. I realised the display settings need adjustment. I used component and hdmi both to get picture as before but none worked. I decided to use the dreaded reset button but still did not get any picture. I always pressed the reset button while the box was 'on' but the box did not reboot /restart at all. I only got picture if i updated with some patch which it did showing update screen. It rebooted after updated but still gave no picture.

I fixed this by connecting the box to my computer monitor which has 2560x1440 resolution. I got the picture once i connected it to my PC monitor with hdmi and changed the display setting to 720p. Connected to my Plasma screen later and got the picture finally.

I conclude that reset button does not reset the display settings to 720p as from the factory (pls note I update it to 0529 ICS from 2.3.4.). I still had all the apps i loaded afterwards. Pls share if I am not resetting the box using another method.

Hello everyone, my Geniatech (MyGica) ATV-310 came without the airmouse and so I've tried installing DroidMote Server on the box and the Client on my phone. I had no issues with the installation and the connection but no movement or key pressing is sent out.

Not sure what is the problem, but could the uinput.ko be missing from the kernel? Anyone has any other suggestions on how to control the box until I can get an air mouse?

EDIT: Just noticed that the new firmware for 2.3 20120606 adds bluetooth. Maybe I could try Tablet Remote app that uses bluetooth instead of the network....

Fixed problems based on Android 2.3 20120111 version.
1.Fixed green boot screen issue.
2.Added Set output mode option in recovery mode (press the upgrade button and plug in power adapter at the same time, hold for a while, you will see upgrading screen, this is recovery mode, then release the button), if your TV only has CVBS output, no HDMI or YPbPr, please enter into recovery mode, use remote control to select Set output mode option, and set the output mode to NTSC for 480i CVBS or PAL for 576i CVBS. If your TV supports both CVBS and HDMI, switch resolution to 480i or 576i in setting by HDMI or YPbPr, then, set the TV source to CVBS is also ok.

Recovery-20120606_M1_2.3-NotErase-XYZ.img new recovery from 20120606_M1_2.3 firmware, system and data not erase.
Recovery-20111102-NotErase-XYZ.img for rolback M3_512 device, system and data not erase.

Hi there. Just thought I'd do another poll on Gingerbread vs. ICS so I can figure out if we should upgrade or not.

Can someone please provide feedback on working and non-working apps for ICS (May 29 update)?

Netflix - do you have it working, if so what version apk?
Skype - do you have voice/video calling working?
Market - does it have all the application available for install after implementing Gio's fix?
Video playback - is it able to play 1080p content smoothly without any issues and with hardware acceleration?

Overall what are your thoughts/suggestions regarding upgrading to ICS.

today updated. before i did tweaks with fingerprints and all the stuff.
added maps, really not sure WHY, added BT settings, but no use of that. didn't yet tryed to reboot it to recovery for cvbs, but, hope these days i'll do that also.
bottom line, if old firmware are satisfying your needs, i really do not see any need to update to this latest fw.

I have just installed this version together with HiDTV 1.9.8.

It installed OK however there is a significant audio problem with this version.

I downloaded and tried the HiDTV 1.9.8 version and an earlier version.

When in use there is an initial audio burst for a second or two, then silence.

It is the same with streaming video via Veetle and Crackle.

YouTube gives an on/off audio that then stops as does Tune-In Radio.

Reverted to Gingerbread Version 20120111 and everything ran normally including the new HiDTV version.

I have not persisted with the testing nor did I leave HiDTV going for more than 5 minutes to see if audio did activate. Sometimes I find HiDTV takes up to a minute before audio comes on.

Has anyone else had similar problem?

UPDATE

Tracked the problem down to an incompatibility between this version and HiDTV 1.9.8.

When I carried out a fresh reinstall and tried with Veetle, Crackle, YouTube and Tune-In Radio I have no audio problems. However when then I run HiDTV the audio fails and also fails when I then try Veetle, Crackle, YouTube and Tune-In Radio again.

I get the same results when I carry out the same tests with HiDVT Version 1.9.4

Make sure your external hard drive has enough power, if not, please put a power adaptor to it, and 2nd thing is please make sure the USB cable you are using is a good one. 3rd is make sure your HDD has been formatted as FAT/FAT32 or NTFS and partitioned.

I had that problem and a clean installation fixed it. To do a clean installation, I pulled the plug from the box, and while pressing the reset button I put the power back on. This way it starts in recovery mode and installs the update.img in the card.

I also did a wipe data/cache.

I've updated my box with update_20120529_M1_4.0.zip and works quite better than Ginger. I'm wondering if it's worth to upgrade Flash with 11.0 version and if there is any software on market that reboot (or shut-off) the unit. I miss this function very much!

As I understand it, these units only work well with the supplied special modifies 10.2 version and may not work as well with other Flash Player versions.

Does anyone have the same problem that I have with Veetle.

Over the weekend they seemed to have changed something and Veetle no longer works.

You are directed to update but I could not download as my unit was not supported. I had previously updated to this new version but had gone back to a previous version for a variety of reasons but had not yet re-updated.

Has anyone solved this problem?

I had the same problem plus more, not only the cursor changed but even resolution went bad 1080p converted to 720p and still the same spacing as 1080p so, everything was imposible to run.

I did the clean cache and went straight to factory defaults, but nothing, the only fix was going back to good old gingerbread.

What I found out is that happens everytime it updates something in market.
