Hi, I'm not new to Android but really new to this TV Box thingy.
I just got the ATV310 and Im really happy with it. But there one thing that how to turn it off completely? I mean totally off so I can turn down the electric and go to sleep.
Cuz the power button on the remote as well as on the player is just get it to sleep state and turn on right away with one click. I tried to hold it down for some secs but it just doesnt off.
Is the player supposed to work that way? And Im not supposed to turn it off?
I know the player has root access but it seems like doesnt have the command to turn it off cuz none of turn off app from Play Market worked. I can reboot it though.

I don't have that model, but my atv1000-equivalent has a power button on the front that I rarely use. My 1000 barely gets warm.
Looking at photos of the 310, it seems there is no power button.
So you can probably leave it on without affecting your electricity bill.

@jschall Yes, it does have a power button. It's the IR receiver also play as the power button. And also on the remote, there is one too.
But when I click it, it just turns off the screen, just like with an Android tablet or Android phone. But holding it down for a while doesnt bring on anything to shut the thing down
Hi guys, I am new here, and I ask for a little help...
I will get my Geniatech ATV 1000 tommorow and I want to have the latest firmware onboard.
So, can anyone tell me, where I can get a good complete 4.0 Firmeware, with Google Play Store Support? Is there a update.zip which I can download, and easily update in the build in firmeware?

if you run into troubles on this firmware try to go back down to 529..
mine does not like the 730...just goes all gaga on me and slows down to a crawl..
then starts crashing..usually almost straight away..
there is also a mod version in this thread..
Guys i'm kind of getting crazy with the m3 enjoy tv box (Geniatech atv310) till yesterday it worked fine now i only get video but no audio, and under settings devices sound i only get digital audio output and never again the sound settings that allowed me to adjust volume please guys help.

I killed mine today, I think by upgrading busybox via the busybox update program..
got the big green man inside the blackbox as a mouse curser..which is painful as there is no way to get the pointer back..
I even tried to flash one of the pointer zips..didnt like it..
so had to reset the box..once again I tried the 730 versions..but my box didnt like it..
so its back to the 529..as its stable for me..
I see is a new one out..thinking of grabbing it as I am here in China so can have it up in a few days to play with..

I'm using hdmi for everything video and sound, i get video fine, and till yesterday night i had audio fine too, i upgraded to updateM3_20120827.zip lastnight and it was working quite well (only netflix wouldnt load) i have tested the cable with my blueray and it works fine, and i brought the m3 box to another TV and had the same problem, i have restored factory defaults and nothing, i have reflashed the last zip file, and nothing, i wonder if there's an internal damage but it kind of baffles me that if something was damaged then why i get video over hdmi but no sound.
As i said under the sound settings i only see pcm digital sound nothing and i can change that to raw but it wont return me the sound control or bars that allowed me to adjust and i have no audio in any application.
can only suggest go back in the software to the version that was working and see if it comes back..
but before you do..make a few wipes via the recovery panel..you can go back a few pages and find my post and grab the app from market
that will boot you into it..
its painful we dont have a proper TARP or CMW recovery where we can do wipes ourselves and have a bit more control..

yes, seems to be the case..
I went down that track as wanted to download and install a program..
for some reason it would not let me install anything off any of sdcard or USB..
tried the same file off the same Samba to two other android devices and proved that the file was fine..
so I tried a fix permissions script to see if it would fix it...no joy..
thus it was a fresh flash..and reset up

As I am in China I rang the company on the new dual core they are advertising.. But at the moment it is not in production. Also as a oem supplier they won't sell to individuals.
I also sent them a email asking for kernel source release so that we can use droidmote.. But as yet no reply..
If you guys could also send them emails to add the 'uinput' module into the kernel they might get the hint that it is a desired add on.

I also have this frustrating problem but is does not seem to appear with my Android tablet.
I think that the problem is with either the box hardware/chip and/or its dependency on the special version of FlashPlayer 10.2 required which I understand is a special "software accelerated" version.
Both point to a deficiency in the hardware/chip which there may not be a software fix.

As far as I know, you only have two options.
1) Get an Apple TV for $100, and Airplay video to it from your iPad.
2) Get an Android smartphone or tablet for $200-$300, and play video from it to your ATV510 using iMediaShare or Skifta.

once we get it confirmed working on one..and if they don't do an update across the platforms..
we can pull the module out and then it should be a simple matter of a script that can be loaded on boot..
so first off we need to see if they can get it working first..

Today I updated my ATV300 player to M1 Android 2.3 20120606, and it was sucessfully, after reboot i stuck on the EnjoyTV logo, and nothing happened.
When i try to go to the android recovery with th reset button, the led turn to blue, after red, and nothing happened, only the black screen.
On the box it was android 2.3 but from 2011. Boot version was okay, when i checked it.

Got it going finally with this uinput.ko on the Geniatech M1 ATV3000 Android 4.0 20120529 so this means you guys should be able to do it..
2: Using a file explorer , i.e-esfile explorer, root explorer – (note on our box’s at this moment using Solid explorer for root operations is not a good idea as you have to upgrade the busybox and we have found problems with doing this.. refer to the little green man curser problem )
Go in to /system/lib/ and make a folder called “modules” so it should look like this.
/system/lib/modules
3: Copy the “uinput.ko” that you downloaded in to this folder
4: Set permissions - assign 644 permissions to this file – refer to this link if you don’t know what the permissions mean.. How to change permissions (chmod) of a file « HostGator.com Support Portal
Using esexplorer – navigate to the “uinput.ko” file,
hold the mouse on the file until a list of operations comes up,
scroll to last option “Properties” click you will see “permissions”,
click on “change” and change to “User – Read, write, execute and Group – Read.”
Then click ok..just make sure that your modules folder permissions also are “ rwx-rwx-rwx”
5: Then Terminal to do – a: su
b: insmod /system/lib/modules/uinput.ko
Don’t reboot-
Load up the droidmote server and off you go.. that’s how it worked for me..
Note: if you are in country that has a block on Market and you get “ can not authorize” message.. then it means that your internet is blocked to Market..its not a Droidmote problem..but your internet problem.. so complain to your government.. haha.. but seriously there is a work around.. this is how I do it when I get it..

Download the file and don’t unzip, rename to update.img, all are small characters.
And, please check you did not hide the extension name of the file on PC.
1.If you are using android 2.3 (as long as the Uboot version is 20111102 or later one in setting->about device), please copy the file into SD card and insert to the box. Then, go to setting->privacy->update system to update firmware directly, the box will restart automatically after finished.
2: Or you could try to pull out the update.apk from the ICS and see if it will install on your Rom..Then you can try to load the update.zip with a fresh install of the Rom you want to use..
3: Or you could try to do it manually this way.. But note that these instructions are for the TF101 but you could adapt them to suit this box, you just need to work out which partition to push it too..I have done this before on the TF101 and works fine..

Honestly, i dont know if you can push a CWM recovery to it.. It might be better to see if you can extract the recovery from the blob and push the one they use..
There is a post a but further back about a link to xda on some guy working on a tab version but as yet i have not found suitable instructions..
Maybe someone else could chime in with some help..
so if you are bright, have time on your hands...and want to become famous in the online android

You might have to keep playing with different uinputs to see if you can find one to work with what you are running..
Just make sure you are doing the permissions right on the folder you make and the file you put in and hopefully you will find one that will work..
I have 3 Android devices that this works on..

So, i havent got recovery in my atv 300 (you can see it some post earlier)
The problem is, that i havent got a RECOVERY partition. I cant see it with command: /proc/mtd .
I cant flash the recovery.img without this partition.
If somebody can help how to make this partition please help me. Thanks.

Hi, I am new to this forum and to Android TV boxes in general. I have been looking for some android based box that will allow me to easily play movies from lan, external usb hdd and if possible process TV signal (DVB-T). I stumbled across Geniatech Enjoy TV boxes, but I am kinda lost in their specification - I am not sure what exactly I need and what not. this is what I want:
- smooth FullHD (1080p) playback; if it plays "Samsung Demo Oceanic Life" without stuttering then it's ok
- ability to play videos from local NAS (access to LAN) and from external usb HDD
- receive DVB-T signal (even if it doesn't I guess Geniatech PT115e would do the trick)
- would be great to have some sort of YouTube player in there as well
- HDMI output
- it has to be silent
- would be awesome if it came in black
Originally I was looking into ATV330B, mainly because it has built-in DVB-T receiver but I am a bit sceptical how it handles high profile-high bitrate h264 1080p videos (seeing it has only 800MHz CPU).
Maybe ATV520 Enjoy TV Dual Core Nano 4 would be better (with DualCore 1.5GHz A9 CPU), but I would need to get Geniatech PT115e for receiving DVB-T signal. Plus I am not really into white box and I am not sure how much would it cost comparing to ATV330B. Smoothness of 1080p playback is highest priority but I don't want to go over 150$ for TV box. Ideally I would like to keep it in <100e (~128$) price range.
That being said, I am having difficulties finding out pricing on Geniatech TV boxes, amazon and ebay have rather small and a bit outdated sales. Is there any official Geniatech internet store (for EU region)?
