Hi Stane!. I replaced the file as you said, but now I can not turn the wifi directly. You could include the other driver in the next firmware work?. Thank you!

Explain, how do you mean you can not turn on wifi directly? Does it work or not? Do you have same behavior or wifi performs better with this driver if it's even working?

Sorry for my english. I'm using google translator.

After replacing the file, the WIFI does not start. I put "on" and do not appear networks, not detected.

Thanks!

No problem.

Just to be noted (again), kernel is not 3.08, it never was. It's 2.6.34. I don't know why everyone force to display this info which is wrong. Amlogic doesn't have 3.x kernel yet, drivers and platforms itself are not ported yet to kernel 3.x (at least it's not available to public). In Android sources there are visible preparations for 3.x kernel, but still 2.6.34... If you install Task Manager or similar program, you'll see that you're running on kernel 2.6.34

As I promised, I'm working on it and it will be released when most of bugs if not even all solved, with all features mentioned earlier in posts included (bt, dvbt, adb over network....).

Same goes for c03ref device.

Can you give me an official link to the support->download->firmware this product?
try to set the output as"720p"from your box, your TV might not support 1080p videos.just my advice though.

Seems like very old post, I don't remember it.... I asume it's c03ref board. Visson ICS never got working ac3 nor dts on their c03ref which is 20120423.

About 1080p, either you have problems with your tv displaying 1080 resolution or there is a problem with hdmi cable. Try replacing hdmi cable.

Download skype.txt from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

So i bought a used logitech c270 on amazon! $18! works in native camera app, still no skype. above link is logcat of event. says something about no codec for viewing live stream from camera...

UPDATE: this could be a resoltution issue. i think skype is trying to set the resolution of my webcam to match my lcd monitor (dvi to hdmi cable). its an odd resolution. will try on my 1080p TV and see what happens.

Stane1983,
after extensive testing on devices running netflix and devices not running netflix, i am almost positive that it is 'amadec' holding back the player from starting. it is waiting for a pts checkin that never happens or the build never ackowledges it. i have tried many other libamplayer files on yer firmware, and they all do the same thing, which leads me to believe its not in the libamplayer file. maybe they are all non functional. i even tried the ones from the geniatech firmware that netflix works on, but no go. i'm sure they were loading correctly as i could see the different builds and whatnot in logcat. so pretty much , there is a bug in there somewhere, maybe the kernel, im not sure. but if it cannot be solved or there is no priority to fix it, i gotta move on to a different processor achitecture that will. Cos netflix is the largest video repository in america. $75 blu-ray players can use netflix here. these android devices will never make it here if they can't do it. we will see.

Hi Stane1983,

Hope you have the time to help.

I got a "Android 4.0 Google Smart TV Box 1.4GHz WiFi HDMI HD 1080P" from ebay (it was the only one which had optical output.)

Anyway, in the model in device information it says "MBX reference board (f16ref)" so I installed your firmware, which I think I shouldn't have done since it didn't say VISSON or anything similar.

Now at startup I get the @9 logo, then the Android robot, and it stops there, it doesn't go further.

I can still get the recovery menu if I press reset and turn device on with no SD card.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thx!

Cheers
JP

Hi all, I hope there's somebody who can help me

I'm having a box like this.

This box appears as a c03ref with Cortex A9 CPU with ICS so that's the reason how I find this Thread. Today I updated YouTube on my box and after that youTube is hanging after starting (Signing in). I tried something but nothing worked. I decided to do a reset to factory default. In the appearing booting menu I choose also delete apps (Option 3) because I thought this option will reset the origanally installed apps. After that I choose restart but the box is only displaying the green Android logo. What should I do? Does it make sense to install the fw for c03ref but if I understand it right the fw only works for a special box and not mine? Any help would be very nice

Thx a lot in advance

Hi,

I have bricked my c03f flashing firmware (2012.06.21)from this thread (don't really know what happened ).

When I power up the unit, the TV remains with no signal. When I power up the unit holding the reset button before powering it up, still the same (and the 2 leds at the front don't blink 3 times like they used to do).

I have tried to use SDTool from WinXP with several different SD cards (4Gb, 1Gb) to create a recovery card but still no luck. I power up the unit with the card inserted and it still does nothing (no signal on TV, no blinking of the leds...)

Any other ways I can try to recover my box? I have linux PC available if necessary.

Thanks!

Try a different regular SD card. no SDHC. try a small card too. 1gb or less. if that fails to work, try a different windows xp machine. some motherboard usb ports don't play nice with SDTOOL. also, make sure you are making the card correctly. copy uboot to card with SDTOOL, then reinsert sd card and copy firmware files to root of card. then insert into device and power on/reset depress. might have to do it twice. first time through reloads bootloader. second time lights should flash and firmware should begin to load. may take a while. leave it be for a minute.

also, STANE1983, i got skype working! turns out, skype on android will not video call properly to certain versions of skype on MAC osx. i am using a version of skype for osx 10.5.8 at the moment and android doesn't like connecting video calls to it. i tried connecting c03ref with logitech c270 as well as cheap $5 chinese driverless webcam to my zenithink c71+ tablet skype and everything worked!!! so there it is! some peoples versions of skype will not video chat properly with the atv-108. still no microphone from my logitech c270 tho..do i have to do anything special to turn it on? i assumed it should just work. or is that after usb audio fix gets implemented?

edit: now that i got skype working, i'm almost sorry i did. the quality of the video is atrocious.

Hi Stane,

I updated my box (not an ATV108 but very similar to the pic in an prev. posting of mine) with your fw from the v-play site from 21. June and I'm really impressed. This ICS is so much more stable than the lousy crap originally installed. No crash on Google Play, no unfortunately closed Dialog, nothing.

I really appreciate your work and I sent you a beer already coz this is well earned

Maybe you can answer me two questions

1. Y Chrome isn't working on the ICS c03ref? Maybe coz of the (missing) hardware acceleration but not sure
2. Do you know when the remote control support will be added or is there a fix already available?

Yes, you should see picture on screen during recovery from SD.
Do you have Visson board? c03ref or f16ref?
Most likely you installed wrong firmware.

Are you sure it's Visson's c03ref?
c03ref works like charm with recover SD (f16ref have some problems with recovery SD) - if you're sure it's Visson c03ref then I bet your issue is with creating recovery SD)

btw. there is no XBMC for Android yet.

If you properly make recovery SD card I believe you'll be able to repair your box.

Hello!
I read this post
but I wrote above
...
I can not run at all box
Hold down the "reset" switch on the power ... and nothing
both LEDs are lit and the end, I can not upload firmware this way.

it has no image

how can I cure this box, or upload the firmware?

you need to use SDTOOL on windows xp to make a 'special' bootloader sd card. get SDTOOL from stane1983's vplay site.

I think these units do have hardware acceleration (I'm sure someone will correct me if need be). I bet the problem is the box is probably not properly registered as a device with google to offically use the market. It probably acts like a device that is... and that device might not have the reqired specs.

So... one possible fix might be to change the device it is acting like... in the image.

This file is one of 7 files of the firmware which you plan to install, my friend.
Open the firmware and you will see that.

Default steps for creating recovery card

Well, as I see many guys, beginners usually as I am too, are confused following informations trying to create sd recovery card to activate their devices, therefor I repeat all steps I did, when my device ATV-108 (c03ref) was stuck, with no reaction at all, both lights on, blank TV screen etc.

Creating SD recovery card:
1) Make a format on a small SD card, 1Gb or less, but not HCDC card.
As about me, I used micro SD 250Mb with adapter.
2) Insert SD card into XP machine. On desktop you should have the selected android firmware for installation.
3) Download and unzip SD tool. Open "SDtool_v1.4_EN.exe" and select the above SD card.
4) Click "browse" and select "u-boot-aml-ucl.bin" file, the one of 7 files of the firmware.
5) Click "Make SDcard", then normally the SD card burning begins. Wait a short period of time until a window pops out indicating "Success". Click OK to complete. Now SD card is already automatically unmounted.
6)Remove SD card out of computer and re-insert it back in.
7) Now, copy-paste all 7 files of firmware on the root of SDcard

8) Seurely remove card out of PC.

Upgrading process, activating device:
9) With TV Box powered off, (unplugged) insert SD card.
10) Keep pushing reset button behind the box, using toothpick or smth similar, plug in power TV box and when red light will blink 3 times, let reset button free. Upgrading will start, red light stays on, blue light blinking, procedure takes some minutes. During upgrading, device should be connected with TV to watch procedure. (loading bar). Make sure power is not interrupted during the upgrading process. In case power is interrupted, you need to upgrade your Android TV box again.
11) When upgrade is over, unplug TV box, remove SD card and plug it back, to restart device.
(Upgrading process might have to be done twice)
I hope my English are understandable.
You are ready! I hope I helped.

WELCOME!

I do not do this the first time!

firmware on my tv already changed the box a few times and never had a problem
recently tried to upload a version with 21062012 (before I was soft from 11,062,012 ref03) and that's when it happened:
An error occurred when uploading new firmware

As I said now I can not run at all box
and even more so in the new firmware upload mode.

LED lights do not respond at all still
despite the fact that I'm doing fine:
First power off
Second I press and hold down the reset button
Third plug in the power
...
and nothing
LEDs still, nothing happens
dumb video
---
what can I do?
Please help!

Well, I also tested many firmwares, I also turned device to factory settings many times, but nothing happened ever.
One time, returning to factory settings..grrr..crash..
Don't be dissappointed, solution will be found.
My box was defected for one month.
Now I use mediafires firmware because with others I have some problems on streaming video reproduction.
Message on step 5 is not visible to me, what does it say?

Are you using WinXP?
From image you provided I would say you're on Vista or Win7...

Another way is: desolder SPI chip form PCB - and burn bootloader directly to SPI using programmator for SPI or find someone who can do that for you (do this at your own risk)

Problem is in SPI chip where is bootloader. Read post above... Are you using WinXP ???

You'll probably get nothing from ttl (TX, RX, GND) while SPI is bricked with wrong bootloader.
