Yes, I saw that there are no visible menuitems in that dialog. Do you have IR remote? If so, when you're in position to save access point, push Menu button on your IR remote. Menu with Save option will pop up in the right bottom side of screen.
Hi
Using c03ref last release of 2012-08-26 almost one week, I realized that is too much better as about sttreaming video reproduction issues which I had with previous releases.
Congradulations and many thanks to developer.
From the other side I would like to report some problems with browser.
During surfing, browser crashes very often returning to the main page. This situation was not often on previous releases.
Also, more often than before, I get message "browser is not responding".
Any suggestions?
Sorry for bad English
Thanks
Thanks for all the information that you provided here. In an axcellent forum. Can anybody explain me which is the best firmware to install on c03ref box and which is the correct procedure to install?
Thanks for your help.
Millher (new user)
Well my friend, logically thinking, I guess the last Stane's release 2912-08-26 should be the best. (post #1053)
As about installation procedure, read this thread from the beginning, you will find informations about.
If not, ask me on pm.

I applied the c03ref rom from June without any Problem. Today I saw a new one and I'm a little bit confused about installing TWICE ?? What does it mean exactly? Could anybody send me quick link to a HowTo. I searched already in some Threads but I haven't seen.
P.S. I know how the startup procedure with the reset button and my sd card worked perfect with the older ROM from June.

thx in advance
Twice means twice First install you can fire upgrade process from within android. Next install you have to perform because in most cases installed firmware will not boot into android. That's because different NAND partitioning.

I have two issues with the firmware:
1. The stock browser force closes when I start a download.
2. The app v.play networking does not find any network shares via the the scan button (but with ES file esplorer the network shares can be found)
Hi stane1983, would love to test the new firmware but my box is dead and am in the process of sending it back for a replacement. If you don't mind I will download the firmware and test when a replacement arrives.
Many thanks for the great work.

Hi guys
Using last firmware for c03ref 2012-08-26 for one week I experienced crashing of browser very often.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks
Hi matinaki, could you check your modem when the browser crashes? check modem logs, this will let you know if the modem has restarted every time the browser crashes.
Had the same problems with my 102.
Kind regards

I am also having the same problem.....which modem are you using???
If there is no signal indicator in bottom left corner for mobile connection or if it's gray without signal after 10-20 seconds after you plug your modem in, it means modem is not recognized properly or PIN is enabled on SIM. Huge APN list is included in firmware (obtained from CyanogenMod 10 sources) so most probably you have one of these two problems.
Another check, under Settings, About MediaBox, Status there should be info about operator, signal, connection....
I need testers for ATV-108 rev2(f16ref) / ATV-102 for new firmware.
Changelog:
- Wifi driver updated to latest Realtek sources
- added 3G dongle support
- Upgrade app replaced with V.play Upgrade (under development; only Local upgrade works)
For all of you who had wifi issues with f16ref, please report if this firmware solves the issue.
Firmware can be downloaded from

Yes, it was grey without signal and i think the modem is not supported.
According to apnmanager app I was able to see the apn list and my setting was also there but couldn't apply due to continous "force close" message.
under Settings, About MediaBox, Status all the network related info was either unknown or unavailable.
Is there any way of putting modem driver (huawei e171) via root explorer or any other similar settings or any paid apps too....
Try to do what I did with my TV Box recognized as c03ref in the same situation:
I also applied the last upgrade with the same sad result. All attempts to continue the 2nd pass from SD Card appeared to be useless. Just green light and no changes in more than 1 hour. Then I assumed that the SD issue might not been fixed for my model and the 2-nd pass now cannot find files for upgrade. I checked the card and found that the files from there had been deleted. I wrote them again, but it did not help. The box remained in coma. Then I inserted the SD Card with firmware upgrade to USB Card Reader, connected the reader via USB and restarted the device. It took around 15 minutes after restart and I saw the "android" sign which later on was followed by system start and setup.
Try to do the same and write back here if it will also help you in order to inform the others who might also have had some issues with the upgrade.
My device initially had pre-installed Android 2.3 system and it was slow and always failed to read properly some video formats and all *.iso files. It also failed to accept installation opf most of software.
Now it is fliying like a jet fighter, it is reading everything, it is accepting installation of any software, but it does not want to see SD Card and the remote control is working only for switching on and off. The rest of buttons are not working, but I am using a wireless mouse and a USB Hard Drive and I am happy with the results of the upgrade.
Dear Stane, thanks a lot for your great firmware! I bought this box in order to use it as a media player and it is working perfectly for that task now reading even *.iso files and decoding very fast any videos. Nevertheless I`ll be even more grateful if you will give a hint how to initiate back the SD card and the remote in its full functionality. Maybe, I will have to download 2.3 firmware and to install some drivers from there? If it is not possible, just forget it. I will never neither downgrade for 2.3 nor install the official Android 4 firmware because yours is a masterpiece - fast and friendly except some minor (for me) bugs.
Thanks for your great reply , i will try it , soon ,
have keept the rest button pressed for that long time ,

Well my friend, I haven't realized modem restarting during browser crashes, from the other side I use to turn on/off modem manually very often..
Anyway, I will check again more carefully, modem during crashes and modem logs too.
By the way, as I see on TV screen, wifi signal is strong and constant without iterruptions.
I thank you for reply.

Stane... You are like Yoda crossed with Einstein!! Your a legend!! Your latest update finally fixed my WiFi Was about to throw the stupid device out (f16ref) when I decided to give it one more go, one last firmware attempt. WiFi works perfect! Have been following this forum for a while and the help you have given people is unbelievable. Solid effort mate.
Only issues with the latest update I could find is the mouse keeps cutting out (like gamajunior said), and I seem to get through about 30 mins of a show (watching over the network) and the device just reboots.
Any ideas?

There are known problems regarding USB ports.... working on that issue. I don't know about reboots, can you tell me how to reproduce the issue? You watched online video from webbrowser which involves Flash player or via MoviePlayer...?
@Everyone:
There are 2 different versions of wifi module in ATV-108 f16ref devices (both with same chipset but different manufacturer). On devices with that second wifi module latest test firmware will not work. Currently I'm porting 3.0.8 kernel to M3 platform to be able to use nl80211 interface (lot of problems with 2.6.34 kernel)...
I was watching a file accessed through the home network using movieplayer. And it happened a few different times. Once after 30 mins of watching, another time after about 10 mins of watching. The file just freezes for a bit then the device restarts. I'll keep playing around and let you know if it keeps happening.
Hi everyone!! Sorry for my bad english.
I brick my Visson ATV-108 rev.1 (c03ref). I try recover with SD, but device not enter in recovery mode. I solder pinouts for TTL on PCB. And i have this on boot in console:
Code:
0x00009880
0x01110fff
RSLR0=00000249 RDGR0=00000055
Stage 00 Result 00000000
Stage 01 Result 00000000
Stage 02 Result 00000000Systemp Started
0x12345678
Boot From SPI0x12345678
Any ideas? Is it 100% brick?
!!! I'm unbrick my device, I would write a guide, but my English is very bad and I'm very lazy. If anyone has a similar situation arises, please contact me in PM, we will learn how to restore the device. !!!
I have sent you PM some days ago, but no reply
Can you (or somebody else) let me know how you managed to unbrick your device? I'm in the exact same situation as you are.
I could also write the guide (in english and/or spanish ).
Just want to share a bit my experience (I myself checked practically all those recommendations on my box) for the last c03ref by Stane. I have an advantage or reading in Russian and Spanish in addition to English and Ukrainian, so I found some useful info on foreign forums. My hardware appeared to be an Ider A10 box which is not a Vission model and it is important. The TV I am using is a very old one and my landlord will never provide a better one. It does not have an HDMI and this is also important.
In most of cases when the Dummies like me are changing their firmware with proper general type (c03ref for example), but from different model and at the end of the day they are finding themselves with a black screen - they are panicking without any strong reason for it. Most probably even the system is operational. Or maybe the system is not loading, but the system loader is still alive.
How to check if the system is alive - just insert a USB stick with a logical partition with FAT32 format and upgrade files and restart your Android (as you definitely did 1000+ times before). Go drink some beer, relax and then after 10-15 minutes switch it off and check your stick on your PC. If it has a ".Lost Files" directory - you are OK with the system. It is loading and is working, but you need to tune your video output. In the similar way you check if it is a Vission - compatible. Push in an SD card together with the stick and if you will see the folder on USB stick and no folders .Lost Files, DCIM and one more on your SD card - your system is not a Vission and you will have to survive without an SD :-)
If there are no any folders even on USB - you are no longer a Dummy. You are a Bachelor now, because you managed to kill the system, but you still have a chance with the Loader.
1. In most of cases the Upgrade process from the Loader is going under HDMI ONLY. So do not be scared if you see the black screen using AV output.
2. Another reason for black screen in AV mode might be caused by the resolution changed to a higher one than you may afford, or to an other type than is supported by your TV.
How to fix - find somebody with the HDMI, visit him with a box of beer, connect both HDMI and AV, install the firmware twice from the Upgrade of a system (this is with normal start), or from an Upgrade of the box (this is with those Reset, or Upgrade buttons) and then switch to AV and choose the lowest of possible resolutions and disconnect the HDMI. Then go to your home and pray that the type is correct. If it will not work - go back with a new box of beer, connect and change the type of TV for the same lowest possible resolution. Then you will definitely see the Setup on your TV and Stane`s firmware will no longer let you to spoil the picture. If you will choose a wrong one, or a higher resolution than is supported by your TV - it will just reset you back to a proper and lower one.
Do not forger to wipe the system and cash from the box Upgrade menu before the first installation of firmware.
If you will observe endless ANDROID sign during normal start - it means that only the Loader is left for you, so it is better to find any of versions of your original firmware, to reinstall it from the Loader and then to upgrade to Stane`s firmware. SD card in the Loader mode is operational even if you have a no-Vission model.
If you killed even your Loader - you are a Master and the next step for a Master will be to look for a dump of exactly your model and to say Hello to Linux. Look here: Arm/Boot Loader/How to burn a uboot to board - Amlogic and be creative. My condolences in this case.
For no-Vission models - forget about your SD cards for now. Those models are using different way of addressing of USB and SD bus, so only a USB will be recognized for no-Vission models with the Vission firmware.
Well, a bit long, but hope that it will save a couple of boxes and a lot of gray cells of their owners. If not so - Mr. Admin is most welcome to delete this post as an off-top.
uboot is flashed by recovery image (uImage_recovery), not by updater-script and it's flashed to SPI chip.
Partitioning is the same. I cannot post mount output 'cause I don't have access to c03ref device right now.
If your device contains less than 1Gb internal storage, do not flash my firmware to it, firmware doesn't support nand chips < 1Gb.
Regards
Hi Stane,
I just flashed Your firmware and is working great on the GV-13 box (compare to original firmware). The only problems for now are:
1) Out of sync problem between video and audio on playing/streaming video.
2) When power up from sleeping (with remote), the wi-fi doesn't work (as a workaround, we must manually disable/enable it).
I had to replace only the remote.conf (/system/etc) with the original one, because the remote was not working.
Some day after, I will try to flash the XIOS linux/XBMC firmware, just to find out how it will work with my box
(just controlled the firmware, it is only flashing boot.img, non the uboot and that is OK).
Good afternoon. One doubts. Just bought a box (Google-Android-40-1080P-Full-14GMHz-Smart-TV-Box-Media-Player-WiFi-Internet) and when I try to watch movies shared on the network, drag the image up too, becoming very slow . I used several players (bsplayer, MX Player, etc.) and all with the same problem. Then I tried copy a movie on a usbflash and the same thing happens, except when I use the installed player. I wonder if the same happens to you guys and what the solution for this?
Ps: The player that comes with the box installed does not allow searching (browsing) movies on the net! Can you confirm? I used wireless and Lan and also the problems continued.

Boa tarde.
Hi stane1983,
After several times trying to update with 20120905_Android_ICS-ATV-108-f16ref-test (1).zip my "Smart TV Box" freezes on reboot with screen "smart.. smarter.. V.play". The first two steps of upgrade have passed successfully - update.zip and new-patch.zip but the last "set_efuse_ethernet_mac=/sdcard/ethmac.efuse" is crashing with error.
Please kindly advice if you know how to try to downgrade and from where to find the files.

and was ICS.MBX.20120815,(f16ref),android 4.0.4 ver.2.6.24
and with the update Downloading: 201209.rar - Uploadingit
I succeed to update the box.Now is ICS.MBX.20120827, but I cannot find the "root" patch for it and all subtitles not in Englich are on Chineese - no way to change with MoviePlayer, other players from market can't play HD.
Thanks for the prompt reply!

Yes it have You installed it incorrectly. First, check if you have new_patch.zip on your sdcard (root installation is in that zip), second, your factory_update_param.aml (text file) should look like this:
EDIT: Also, wipe cache/data is unnecessary after installing rom. If you do that, apps installed on userdata partition will be lost (such as Superuser, YouTube...)
