Root Remap Search Sofkey to Camera

THIS WASNT STOLEN, I JUST HADNT REALIZED THAT SOMEONE ON THE HERO FORUMS-FORUMS FOR A PHONE THAT I DONT EVEN HAVE-HAD DONE IT "LONG LONG AGO". IF ITS NOT ON THE FIRST PAGE I USUALLY DONT NOTICE IT

While messing around earlier, i figured a few things out.
its always bugged me that the Eris didnt have a dedicated Camera button. So i decided to just remap the Search softkey-i rarely use it anyways.

flash from recovery, it works on any rom.


This makes a long press on the Search softkey pull up the Camera.

and yes...you can remap other keys to do other things too, but this is just the only one i thought was needed.

Because he passes this stuff off as his own and you guys think he is god, where in fact, all he does is steal others hard work and rebrand as his own. Dont think I am correct? Ask him why he was banned from XDA. I usually go to PM and not clog up the thread with this type of stuff but he just keeps doing it.

I asked for permission and got approval on the stuff I used as well as almost every other DECENT dev. Why cant he? Because he is a common thief.

well i cant prove that this is my work, i DID come across this myself last night, didnt see the post on the hero forums.
as i did on XDA though, im updating the OP to include his link. he has a tutorial posted on changing it to other things anyways so its a bit more informative.

how many times have people "rediscovered" something thats already been posted?

Well, it is up to all of us to be careful when showing technical solutions to these ROM/rooting issues; it is not enough to go back and make it right with links and an explanation because that is what should have been done in the first place.

Having said that, what is the point of bringing up a member's history at all, let alone at another forum, if not to just trash the person here, a violation of the Posting Guidelines.

He included the original thread, and besides the Hero is'nt our phone.. no one had this made for our specific phone so why are you complaining.

It's very useful. I'm flashing now, that search button has always been useless.

Before you go calling people a troll, get the facts straight. He didnt include the OG thread until caught. Ask your self this....why is he the only "dev" and I say that with quotations as he thinks he is, that doesnt have a thread that he releases on. Why he has been banned on any decent forum (dont believe me, ask any MOD on a decent site). I can go on and on and on.

the reason i dont have a thread s because people like you troll and flame until it gets so out of had a mod shuts it down. ive talked to the mods on here though, things are fine, the issue lies with the trolls and flamers.

take this thread as a perfect example. i posted something helpful. you started the flaming. as i said in the PM i sent you, all you needed to do was let me know that it had already been posted on the hero threads and i could have fixed it. not at all a big deal. but no, you decided to blow it way out of proportion.

I respect you droidkevlar, you are a very helpful person, i think youve helped me out in the past myself. you need to give me a chance though, you dont really know whats going on and you dont really know me. ever wonder why the people who use my rom fight for it so much? its because of me, not necessarily the rom. im helpful and friendly and the appreciate that.

Sorry, will not give you a chance. Once a thief in my book, pretty much done. I will however stop replying to anyone's posts after mine and leave it at that. That is my compromise.
