Went to pay my Sprint bill today, and was greeted by this:

Save $150 on a new phone now!
We love you, and to say thanks for spending time with us, you qualified on 06/01/10 to save $150.

I JUST upgraded to my Hero back in March. Looks like my son will get that as a hand-me-down, and I'm movin' on up to the Evo.

Ever hear of such a thing? :D

Read the EVO forums before you upgrade, from what I have read many are not too happy, so be informed before making the move and adding an extra $10 a month for service!!

It's just $10.. lol

I'm gladly gonna get myself an EVO when my upgrade is available in October (or the newest and most awesome Sprint smartphone available) and I will be more than happy to pay that $10 fee.

Stopped at a random Best Buy in Columbus, OH last night on my way back to DFW, got an Evo. So much for the considered opinions. Rooted it, installed wireless tether, bing-bang-boom, off and running.

I frickin' love this thing. It's like 2 Heroes on steroids. Fast. Big screen makes up for a multitude of sins.

If I were to whine about anything, it's the lack of a trackball and having to press the power button to wake it up. That's it.

I feel bad for my Hero, but it'll get a good home with my son. :)

Gonna be a pain in the ass when your screen peels off and you've gotta fly back to Ohio to go to that same Best Buy for a replacement lol.

I'll just jump in the private jet and go.

Never had a problem with Sprint honoring 30-day service, regardless of the purchase point. Been a customer since 1994, and they actually take pretty good care of me. Might explain the mystery upgrade.

Just checked my online account and I have the same deal on my primary line. $150 off a new phone. We just upgraded and signed a new 2 year deal back in January and it says we were eligible in February for the $150 off. This is not the same as the Sprint premier early upgrade deal. With the $150 off I could upgrade my wifes phone to the HERO for $279 or wait the 10 months and use our premier upgrade and get the HERO for $79 (or the EVO for $199).
