If you got a launch day phone maybe a build #2 thats a little wonky, screen a little lifty maybe? or just want to upgrade to the newer hardware build 3 for a better Evo experience time is of the essence your "easy way" 30 days are almost up. Get going get it exchanged or get on that waiting list now!

I have no problems with my phone at all I got mine on the 16th of june, So not sure what build i have. But if the new evo's have newer hardware would I return my phone and preorder a new evo?

##786# from your dial pad scroll to find HW version. It will say something like 00002 or 00003. If you already have a 3 and you dont have any screen lifting issues then I would say keep the one you have. The HW 00003 versions are IMO much better handsets.

what's the manufacturer's warranty? 1 year?! i would imagine that's your time frame for returning your phone for hardware problems (i really don't know what the warranty period is).

if you return it w/in 30 days saying "this phone's not right for me," you think they'll just give you another one? that doesn't make sense.

Yes it is but most likely you will get a used refurbished unit in exchange and not a brand new one like you will within your first 30 days. If getting a used phone as a replacement is no bother to you then wait for sure. Im sure you can find some nit to pick on your handset.

WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP SAYING 0003 IS BETTER?!?!

Where the hell are you getting that information if you don't own a 0003?!

IT'S NOT ANY DIFFERENT THAN 0002

Thank you.

BetterMost. What do you care what anyone else does with THEIR phones. If replacing hours worked, great. But don't tell other people what THEY should do.

Well, I have a 0003 and I am having the screen separation issues with it...

I know this is my first post. Usually I just browse the forums and keep my thoughts to myself (as to not make me look/sound like a fool =) ). But every once in a while a thread like this will come up and I just have to put in my word...

Just because you are outside the 30 day window doesn't meant you'll get a refurb.

When the Blackberry Tour's were released on Sprint they had a bunch of issues. I had to swap 3 times within the first 6 months. The first two times I was given a brand new device. The 3rd time was a refurb.

I can't wait to get rid of this BB.

i am not having any problems with my 0002, so keep it right?

Yes for sure. If it ain't broke don't swap it.

As for the OPs original idea... its just absurd. Let's say we all go en masse and swap out our perfectly good HW 2 phones for new HW 3 phones. All those 2 phones go back to htc, they're determined to be fine and reissued as refurbs. When your hw 3 phone breaks after the 30 days you are going to feel pretty stupid when they issue you a refurbed hw 2 phone...

Well I bought mine on Sprint.com on launch day. I needed to exchange and have been working with someone from the office of Dan. Sprint called me this morning and said they are now placing orders for exchanges (don't know about anything else) even though the orders will still go into backorder status. Also, as long as your old EVO stays on your account, even after the 30 days, they will except it as a return, once you receive the new phone. I now have an order tracking number at least (order shows in progress). I originally billed my phone to my account, and they did bill me again for the new phone.

Stupidest thread yet award.

Revision 1,2, AND 3 were all sold launch day. Over 20 people reported getting 3 launch day, I got 2 launch day. (And no real issues)

Anyone (BetterMost) who keeps posting that revision 3 is some new phone can't, or more likely won't, read.

First of all no one forces you to read or make rude comments in my threads its always YOUR CHOICE.

This thread is intended to give folks with possible issues with launch day handsets a heads up that time is running out to get a brand new phone out of HTC.

this thread is only confusing potential members that their phone is defective when it fact it may or nay not.

if any user of this handset is experiencing issues. take it to a sprint store (corporate) and have them smoke it over OR call into sprint and ask for help. if your phone is working fine AS YOU WANT IT TO then your phone is OK. I have a launch day 002 handset and it EXCEEDS my needs.

lets not continue to start these threads with the potential to confuse people.

any questions, send me a PM.
