...keeps my eris almost exactly like stock, just adds apps2sd? i like my phone the way it is and dont like change, but i like the idea of apps2sd.

for those that have it, how is it? do the apps take longer to launch? would i need a better SD card?

and, does it wipe all the info off my phone?

Well, I would recommend Ivan's Eris Official 1.0 w/overclocking. Its very stock, but with overclocking, a2sd, bloatware removed, etc. I think I've read that there might be an issue w/a2sd in Ivan's, but this can be overcome / resolved.

Plain Jane's ROM is also very close to stock...

FYI, most of the custom ROM immediately give you about 140MB (or more) of free memory right off the bat. So, you might not even need a2sd.

I can't answer your question about app launching time or better /sdcard, but if you overclock, you probably won't notice a difference (it might actually be faster w/overclocking).

Actually, I get better (or at least the same) battery life now that I'm rooted using overclocking. You can set up profiles so that it underclocks when idle / sleeping. So, unless you are a real power-user and have the phone on / using it all the time, you could potentially see better battery life (like me ).

Your mileage may vary, of course.

Search the threads for other peoples experiences re. overclocking and battery life.

P.S. Ivan's ROM supports overclocking, but it doesn't actually kick-in until you launch the setCPU app. Pretty sweet to have the option.

Senseable 3.1 offers Sense (obviously ) and capabilities of rooting while retaining the overall feel of the original 2.1 phone (real nice default theme, though).

If you decide to run it, pay no attention to the "no wipe" note on the page; that refers to users with earlier versions of Senseable.
