your recovery is screwed up. Go to rom mananger flash SPR then flash back to clockwork. Should work fine after that.

Yes there is an issue with 2.2 and flashing Clockwork recovery, the work around currently is to go into RomManager and flash alternate recovery then reflash Clockwork... I have also heard that going into the options and selecting "delete recovery before installing" will help this from happening when updating Clockwork recoveries...

yea thats why in the options you can check erase recovery before flashing recovery.

That should fix the issue

Fair enough. I've checked the box. Is the software able to check what version your Android is? Surely it can check and change the default settings if you are on 2.2.

I'm not complaining - it just seems it would save a lot of people problems. I'm sure there have been at least 10 threads about these issues and who knows how many more who have replied because they had the same problem.

this was an issue before 2.2 Happened to plenty of people on 2.1

I see. Is there any reason why the current recovery isn't erased before writing a new recovery by default? I'm guessing this is to avoid the rare chance you could get stuck without recovery software and therefore could end up having to flash a .sbf.

It seems like these issues are essentially as bad because you can't get into recovery anyway.

At least adding some sort of warning when you flash a new version of clockworkmod recovery would be useful.

I am not sure why that option isnt a default. Probably has to do with the fact that rom manager is used by a lot of phones other than the droid and some might not want that option. Droid users are lucky to have the SPR sbf most phones dont have options that convenient

Again, just playing devil's advocate, but can ROM Manager check what phone it is being run on?
