I understand you guys have to make your money, but ads that take up the entire browser screen for 30 seconds is kind of pushing it... IMO, especially with no skip button. It's enough to keep me from visiting on the web and just use tapatalk, which you can't advertise on. I don't know if other people feel the same way, but something to think about.

I've never seen anything here as described by the OP.

Well I have, and it's driving me nuts too. If I recall correctly they are for Energizer. I've only seen them later in the night the last couple of days. They gray out the whole screen, and run for 30 secs. Yes, I can reload the page and hope for a less intrusive ad, yes I could switch browsers and customize it so I wouldn't have to see them, but really, these ads are a problem. I have no problem with the need to make money by selling ad space, but these take over the whole screen - for 30 secs - rendering the site unusable, and a far less desirable place to visit.

I'm running FF with pop-up blocker as well. I'm in USA central. I'll tell you, it's just not worth it to me to browse this site when they are in the ad rotation. I just go somewhere else and check back later. I'll try to grab a screen cap next time I see it.

Sysops here have stated that they are very proactive in removing ads which alienate users here.

For those of you who've seen these, perhaps a PM or two to Rob, Phases, etc.

I've seen em too, infact that's why I looked for a thread on this issue. I'm using chrome for my browser. A 30 second ad isn't going to kill me, but it's more time than I want to take just sitting here staring at a screen. Sure it's only 30 seconds but my time is valuable to me.
I don't want to use ad blockers, because I like to see what others see for my internet marketing research. Frankly it's never been a problem until now. None of the other sites I regularly visit have ads that I find really intrusive like Phandroid now has.
I'm hoping they decide to get rid of it. As an internet business person I never use pop-ups especially without a close button. I'd rather not irritate my visitors.

Here is a screenshot for those who haven't seen it.

I run my computer with an ad blocker, because I know that's how websites make money, and I have no problem supporting that.

The only other websites I've seen with ads this intrusive are porn sites. If you want to have an ad that takes up the entire screen, that's fine, but put a "close" or "skip" option on it. If I see the ad one more time I will download ad blocking software.

Yep. That's it. Definitely needs a skip button, at the very least.

1:30 am usa central time. Seems like they're sneaking this in only late at night. I gotta tell you this has really got to stop. I'm leaving now because it's not worth dealing with this every 3rd click or so on this site.

Yeah, got the energizer bunny last night for the first time. That is SUPER annoying. I don't mind ads that don't interfere with what I'm doing, but that one possesses the whole screen for 30 seconds.... Not cool. Hell, I even click on some of the ads around here, they look interesting, but that one makes me buy Duracell, for sure.
