I'm realizing that I should not have purchased this. Anyone know how to cancel this guy?
Its Best Buy's Protection plan. I think that's what its called.
either way, I'm reading its a ripoff...
Where are you reading its a ripoff and why is it a ripoff?
Is that like insurance? Isn't that only $1.99 a month?
Ah... I was thinking about the Verizon Extended Warranty which is only $1.99 a month... Ouch, sorry man.A couple of different forums.
Its $9.99 a month...
A couple of different forums.
But why is it a ripoff even though you read it on a couple forums? I got it on my phone also. If anything(ANYTHING) happens to the phone, they replace it with a new phone(not a refurb). You cant beat that!

Total Equipment Coverage (WPP + Extended Warranty), Advanced Devices - $7.99/monththe only options I had at verizon were a 5.99 package which covers it for a year. Then there is a 7.99 dollar option that covers it for as long as you pay
i didnt see a 1.99 option available
I just called Verizon and upgraded my insurance. I was paying $3.99 for protection against defects (which the manufacturer has for a year). So now I pay $7.99 for what she called a warranty which covers defects and lost or stolen phones. You can cancel anytime, but if you do you will not be able to put it back on until your 2 year contract is up.
Shit I forgot to ask about water damage...
Water damaged? Just tell them you lost it.... nuff said. Either way, you will still pay $89 deductible...
For me, I did the $7.99 plan... I have experience drop and lost on my phones in the past and had to fork $1200 for the 2 phones (Treo 700w)... back then the insurance is $3.99 a month... Ever since then, I sign up for the WPP insurance.
The past 2 years, I had to change my MotoQ 3 times (twice for manufacture defect - which is free of deductible, and the third time when my 2-year old son dropped my phone on our toilet... he thinks its funny as hell!
A cat can get out of the toilet, but a phone can't... without the help of an outside force.Hope you guys don't have a cat!

Don't believe the Best Buy rep when they tell you they will replace it with a new one.
