I haven't got it to work yet. I need to go buy a pny 2gb card..
Can i take those cards, root my phone and then put my stock Eris one back in my phone and it will still be rooted?Just borrow one from a friend with a cameraphone. The slow 1GB and 2GB cards were standard in the Env2 and Env3, I think.

even though i could probably get root this way is there any chance that in a few days the process could become simpler?
what difference does it make what size card it is?
also, does this work for 1.49 hboot?
Just curious, but is there a particular reason that a specific card may be needed? Is it because of the slow read/write speeds of the older cards, or something else?
If the Kingston does not work, I may be going out tomorrow to buy a PNY...

actually odds are that you cannot root this way...... and you should pray theres a better way in a few days
the different cards have to do with causing hesitation in the system and creating a hiccup that allows this to work.......
this is specifically for 1.49 hboot
personally I dont think it can be narrowed to a specific card so much as it is luck.......... every single card even within the same specific line are going to read/write at slightly different speeds
seems to me its more a matter of the exact split second timing of inserting the card .......
this method is VERY unreliable at best (if you truely believe it has EVER even happened to begin with)....... out of hundreds of people trying hundreds of times there have been 3 people who 'claim' they did it
its your dimes if you want to go buy various new cards and keep trying....... best of luck
Yes. Hence root for leaks.
