MLB at bat worth it??

Was wondering what you guys thought, it seems i can get all the same info with espn app and the specific team app, minus video's and i'm not sure but it looks like you can listen to radio broadcast????? With all that not sure if highlights and radio broadcast is worth the 15 dollars. Any thoughts/advice?

I use it and enjoy it @ work. You have the option of listening to live broadcasts of all radio stations covering the game (home, visitor, Spanish). In that MLB disallows internet streaming from stations carrying the games, if you want to listen to games regularly and are away from a radio this is the way to go.

$15 for the entire season. If you like baseball and want to listen to your team's broadcast, IMHO it's a great deal.

I love it. I'm away a lot and can't catch the games on tv or radio, so I can listen with my phone. Even when I'm near home, I prefer to listen over wifi instead of the scratchy AM radio broadcast. And I can listen to the other team's broadcast if I want to hear what they are saying. $15 for a full season is a great deal if you ask me.

yea just noticed the audio option after game ended so no chance to test it.

and i do, but was trying to justify to the misses and i realized most of the info was available on before mentioned apps.
Does the audio play over speaker or do you need headphones?

Definitely worth it for the big baseball fan, though coming from the iPhone version I'm pretty disappointed...no live video, only one favorite team, no notifications (can that be? Am I missing it?).

On the plus side, the widget is great and listening to broadcasts in the background (obviously) is much easier.

Just here to join the chorus in singing the praises of this app.

It's great to be able to listen to all of my team's games where ever I go. I honestly think that listening to a ballgame is a more rewarding experience than watching it on tv, as most radio play-by-play announcers have to be a lot more descriptive than their television counterparts.

That being said, MLB at bat is a great app, it lets you follow every single game with as much or as little detail at you want, you can either just follow scores, or you can get live pitch by pitch coverage.
You get a whole lot of baseball for a pittance of only $14.99

for the baseball enthusiast this app is a must buy.

We get the highlights in the Android app. You don't get the live games, but if that's $100 on iPhone, who needs it? Love the audio with choice of home or away feed. Listening to Yankees/Dodgers now.

if all you got were the radio broadcasts i would still pay the 15 for this app, thanks everyone for the feedback, didn't even know about live radio till one of yall told me about it

It's a great program, but at this point in the season may not be worth the $15... hopefuly the later in the season it gets, they'll drop the price.

EDIT: You know what, I take that back. For some reason I thought we were a lot further into the season. If you know you're going to be using it a lot, $15 is totally worth it. Especially if you're a fan of a team that you can't see or hear in your area as I am. Just wish they had MLB.tv for Android now...

It's cheaper than that if you consider that on any given day there are up to 15 different games going on and you can follow any/all of them with this app. I generally follow my favorite team closely and their rivals almost as closely. As they say, 'keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer."

MLB basically has two different services - MLB At Bat and MLB.TV. MLB At Bat gives you access to the home and away audio of all the games as well as the pitch by pitch feature, video highlights, box scores and condensed games. MLB.TV gives you all of that, plus it gives you the ability to watch the game live from any computer or the iPhone app. When you purchase the iPhone app (or the Android app apparently), you get access to MLB At Bat. The iPhone app lets you log in within the app to MLB.TV and watch a game on your iPhone/iPod touch. They also usually feature one free game you can watch. I've not used the Android app. I'm assuming this is what is not available in the Android app.
