Best Battery Widget out there!

So a few days ago I tried out BatteryLeft

I am so impressed with this widget that I felt it deserves its own thread.

Not only does it tell you your battery %, but it tells you the est. time left and time that it will die. It's way off at first, but after a few cycles (let the phone die, charge, and repeat) it gets really accurate.

That aside, this widget will show you the apps using the most CPU, Network, GPS, Sensor, and "Partial Wake" usage.

So for those of you trying to nail down which app is hogging your battery, this is a MUST!

Get it while it's still free, lol..

EDIT: 9/15/2010
There is now a PAID version which allows multiple battery profiles! So when you switch from stock to non-OEM to that big ol' 2600mAh, you don't have to recalibrate every time!

After about a week of using this, I haven't noticed any difference at all to be honest. I used to be really skeptical of battery widgets, but I don't use this one to pine over my %, I use it to get an idea of how much time I have left and to see what has been using my battery.

I've never seen the app itself even listed as using CPU cycles (in the app itself or in the system battery usage).

So yeah, I am converted, but only for this app, lol..

A lot of people seem to think that battery widgets are big battery eaters in and of themselves. I take it you are VERY convinced this widget has no appreciable effect on the life of your battery itself?

i agree with neco, i don't really see a difference in battery drainage. i definitely have more things running that use more battery, so the widget is the least of my concerns. "people" also say a lot of other things drain their battery. i think it really depends on what the user is doing, amount of use, etc. i don't believe the battery widget is going to drain any more battery then say a weather widget.

It's from my Omnia days. I used to cook custom ROMs and was a guide for a LOT of people.

i'll vouch for you on that (as if you needed me too):D,
neco always had the answers and cooked up some really great roms. followed him from modaco, which by the way has like 10 or 12 android users on their site.
ps i'm totally stalking you dude:eek:

installed battery widget now, thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the tip! This was exactly what I was looking for... When I looked for "Battery Left", I almost installed "Battery Life"! There's a lot of battery utilities out there (and many with great ratings)...

I didn't try any of the others though...went straight to Battery Left, and it seems like a fantastic widget... Thanks!

Im a little on the fence with that app so far. I've had it for a few days now and its says its accurate but the % left never matches the HTC battery widget. Weird thing is, as soon as you plug it in, the % changes to what the HTC widget says. I like the looks of this widget, just dont really think its spot on accurate.

so i am confused about this widget. i thought it was bad to let your battery run completely down to nothing, but this app tells you to do just that so it can calibrate it correctly. is it or is it not bad to let your battery drain all the way down until it dies? i like the idea of this widget, but i also like my battery. please to advise. thanks! :)
