I just got it this morning for new update 1.47.615..1, after first time i update and it restarte and ask me again if i want to update. i thought didn't i just updated ? so i'm not sure what happen so i press ok to update again and after a while i came back to check the phone, it was turned off and won't power on. went to sprint store right the way and they can't fix it. tell me to retune it to radio shack where i bought it.
my wife also got the evo and she is at work. hope she didn't update.
can't even call her now because my phone is dead.

HOW MANY PEOPLE"S PHONE BROKE AFTER THEIR UPDATE!!
PLEASE REPLY SAY " I DO "

Don't know why anyone would try to reapply an update after thier first reboot of installing an OTA update LOL Sorry for your pain anyone that truly bricked thier phones but seriously use some common sense folks...You do not need to update the phone twice, once is enough ;)

That's the dumbest thing I've read all day.

You should read that no tolerance thread about comments like this. Your condescending comments are unnecessary and help no one.

Mine is bricked. Unrooted, stock here. Sprint tech support says "Wait a couple of days" for an OTA update to fix the problem. Best buy has none in stock and what Sprint has in stock is reserved for customers that bought the phone from Sprint, because "buying from Best Buy doesn't help a Sprint store reach its sales goals." Mine is going back- I'll stick with my Incredible.

Nothing to do with that. It's one thing when someone needs help and you insult them (which I don't do, I try to be as helpful as possible) but after reading around it seems a handful of folks tried to update thier rooted roms and bricked thier phones and are now trying to use this "updated twice" excuse to get new phones. at the expense of Sprint and HTC and the EVO.

That's the hazards of an open device, the phone is just like your computer, if you don't know what your doing you shouldn't be messing with it, just use it like it came...

And if you do mess with it and break it, at least own up to it, don't make a bunch of excuses in order to try and swindle the company you purchased the device from out of a replacement that was broken due to your own doing.

Sorry but I take offense to that.

If anyone truly did brick thier device by trying to apply the update twice at least I can sympathize with you for being an honest mistake but it's starting to seem the vast majority did not make an honest mistake and are just trying to jump on the "updated twice and bricked" bandwagon if such a thing even exists.
