The Kindle app just launched!

So far the thing I don't like is that the text doesn't fill the whole page. There seems to be a lot of gap especially on the left side of the screen when in portrait mode. In Aldiko the words would fill the whole screen more like a book.

I don't know if this sounds clear or not, but I hope that is something they improve.

Also there are a lot less options for text color, background color, etc than in Aldiko.

Don't know what to tell you. It launches for me just fine with the stock browser.

No harm no foul, since I never used it before, anyways. This is the first app out of hundreds I have downloaded that failed... Well, 3D ping pong failed on the Incred, but worked fine on the lower res G1.

1. Open Kindle app
2. Go to "menu"
3. Go to Kindle menu (used every browser that exists on Android) Needs to be mobile mode
4. Greeted with a small abridged novel of some sort titled, "Looking for something?" Here is the powerful, but short novel in it's entirety:

We're sorry. The web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site.

Wow! That is some powerful writing!! Next!!! ;)

Oh, well, at least the app next to it works great: Kitty Cannon :)

update:

DenverRalphy led me to the issue: Browser needs to be in mobile mode for the app to work.

To answer some questions:

Yes, you can buy (or get free) books from your computer and have them sent to your phone.

The best way I have found to check out free books is to go to

Amazon.com Kindle Store: Over 600,000 eBooks, Newspapers, Magazines, and Blogs

And click "Top 100 Free" on the right side. Voila! Free books :)

Make sure you "register" your phone as a Kindle first by signing in (or creating) your Kindle account on your phone.

When you checkout to buy (or "receive") a book, it will ask which of your Kindle devices you want the book sent to (initially; you can use it on any of your Kindle devices, though). It listed my Android Incredible as "(My Names)'s ADR6300".
