iphone 4 gets a bad review, but good for android

all the Droid fanbois are funny too. you guys act like if Android is successful, you get something out of it.... lol

if you got the phone you want, leave it at that...

I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but I like my Droid, and if Android is successful I do get something out of it:

  • Continued development by Google - meaning new features and functionality
  • A successful platform attracts more and better developers (and their apps) than a dying or abandoned platform
  • A successful platform means continued adoption and development by hardware manufacturers. As much as I like my Droid, this means that something better will come along.

Apple: iPhone 4 isn't a lemon, but comes close

The guy was pretty accurate on everything. The Apple boys are pissed and making excuses on the forums about this guys review, but I even told them I have a 3GS and I agree with the guy. He didn't say anything wrong.

screw the iphone and its "retina" display, Jobs still masturbates to super AMOLED.

Exactly. The Nokia N900 is the best phone "for me" however after 4-5 months, the OS is being abandoned for a newer platform...not that it was ever marketed for wide acceptance. Subsequently, I will never see certain app/accessory support for it as a device/OS (sling mobile), forcing me back to Android.

To give it a C+ because of the antenna issue, the yellow smudge, and volume button mappings while praising the battery life, camera, and overall performance seems rather inconsistent. From what I've read of this I'd expect a B+ at LEAST. He sounds like a very anti-apple guy, which, if you're a good reviewer, shouldn't be apparent in your reviews.

Regardless of other features and how well they are implemented, if a phone can't make phone calls, anything above an F is generous. For a problem like this, I don't think it's reasonable to give a tentative grade assuming they'll fix the problem - especially given their current stance that it's user error (stupid poeple... don't even know how to hold a *&$% phone). If they eventually fix the problem, then it's possible a revised grade would be warranted, but until then...

But it's not like this is a constant problem. It is actually very easily remedied. Yes, the idea of "you're holding it wrong" comes off as rather pompous and obtuse, but I think that's much better than waiting for a software or firmware solution. Also, considering that nearly everyone has declared that the new antenna works better than the previous models (when not being touched), I think that this whole antenna thing needs to be toned down a bit.

if the droid is good, that will develop the droid platform... apple's success or lack of success has nothing to do with that....
Nizmoz implied that Apple's failure was good for Droid... no it doesn't. Playstation didn't become successful because the Sega Genisis failed, PS became successful because it put out a playable system that people liked, not Sega's inability to do the same thing

That "bad" device just moved 1.7 million units...

there are an aweful lot of stupid people in the world atm.

imagine how many android handsets would be sold if we had to wait a year between releases, how many Evos, N1s or Desires.

im willing to bet the combined sales of the Evo, N1, Inc and Desire are close to the iphone 4, even surpassing with the galaxy s in all its US forms.

Apple LIKE quoting their sales figures for the iphone because its once a year.

Not to mention the apple sales figures are a bit skewed. Something around 800k units aren't even active yet,(where did they go?) And I would imagine the majority of those moved units are upgrades, to get locked in before att clamps down on data rates.

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.
