HTC/Sprint deserve alot of credit

Its really only been a few weeks since the grounding and wifi issues were made known and they have already fixed both. Meanwhile, its going on 3 months now that Apple has had these bullsh*t wifi issues on the iPad and still nothing. Not even a "hey, sorry guys we are working on a fix". Have to give alot of credit to HTC and Sprint for the quick fix.

Well even though I would love to applaud credit where credit is due, the truth is everyone dropped the ball. HTC rushed an obviously faulty product, not on a huge scale but enough to warrant a quick update/fix. Sprint, on the other hand, is supposed to test and approve updates pushed on their system and, well, we know how that turned out. So "A" for effort but "D" for execution.

In the beginning of the design phase someone at HTC/Sprint took a gamble on saving a few cents and now they/we are paying the consequences.

Sure its great that they have fixed it now but I don't applaud them at all!

Well I can see how it is possible that they didn't get any issues when they tested these devices. They can't sit and test everyone that goes out and mine has been functioning flawlessly since day 1. Including the update process.... because I didn't update it Twice. Still patting people on the back for fixing things quickly the way they should is a bit much.

You must be new to electronic devices like these. Can you name me more than one or two in the last 5 years that worked flawlessly from launch day and did not require an update fix? Doubtful. Early adopters ALWAYS have to deal with issues on these types of devices no matter what carrier or manufacturer. HTC releasing a fix within a few weeks was very fast though.

I think a quick fix is to HTC's and Sprint's credit. Unforeseen problems occur in any complicated electronic device.

I think any fix that creates more havoc than it repairs is a colossal mistake.

Yea kudos for their quick fix.. the bricked phones for the double update install will be corrected quickly as well.

But screw the grounding fixes .. my phone is a battery pimp now after this last update!! Used the phone heavy today and still came home at 55% after 9hours being unplugged.

Anything empirical to back up the battery statement? I'm just finishing up installing the update now, and am curious as to whether the battery will get even better.

The battery life on my EVO has increased tremendously! and WIFI fix is a plus.

I have to say, my WiFi signal at home immediately went from terrible (1-2 bars on average) to excellent (completely full).

Will see whether there was an effect on battery life soon enough, although my battery life has always been exceptional to begin with.

I have noticed better battery life after the update as well. Did they improve it? Dont remember seeing that listed on the official release of what they did.

My battery absolutely sucked after the update until I power cycled it a few times. However, now I'm at 60% now after over 10.5 hours with some emails, quite a bit of talking, some browsing, updating about 10 apps and checking the power level a few times an hour. I also have 14 widgets running which are said to sap some battery power.
