Hi everyone!
So, I work for Best Buy Mobile, which is awesome, because I am a phone nerd and get to talk about phones all day. Best part of the day is always when someone inquires about Android and then I bust out my keychain with my little green friend on it :D

Anyways, so I can assume most people are excited about this phone, and I wanted to extend an invitation to anyone who had a question about pre-orders, best buy mobile, the phone (though, if you are here most likely you have that part down), or just anything else.

Now, I might not be able to answer some questions, as you know it is with any company, there are certain things I can't say, so I apologize in advance. But I promise to be honest and forthcoming with anything I can say :)

P.S love these forums, I write Android Phone on the sheet we give customers (if they got an Android phone, obviously), because I know how good of a resource it is.

P.S.S I know this kind of thread has been done a few times in the past, so it might be old hat, but! I thought I would try my hand at it, so forgive me if this is just spam to you :S

Official Pre-order FAQ for the Droid X

Any chance you'd know what kind of quanities on average stores will get? My local bb had 16 pre orders and I thought that was a little high so I passed on pre ordering there.

The lowest I've seen for a launch is 20, and that was for the iPhone 4 (we were actually supose to get 50...sigh). My store is one of the biggest in our district though. If Motorola does as good as HTC did for the EVO launch, there should be at least 30 per store. Unfortunatly, we don't know the exact number until the week it comes out.

Welcome to the neighborhood! One quick question, my Best Buy stated that they would have the Droid X for sale on July 11th. Does that sound accurate to you?

Not at all, in fact we had our Verizon rep come in the other day to put up the new preorder sign (which is very cool...big eye), and he made sure to go over the hard street date of the 15th. Make sure you speak to the mobile manager at your store :)

^ This...why are we hearing that some are and some aren't? Mine has confirmed twice to me that they will.

And yes, can you please confirm if we'll have it on July 11th from BB.

Our verizon rep has told us the 15th. But! They also told us a later date on the Devour, we haven't got an official word on when Best Buy will be selling it.

As of right now, Verizon told us the 15th.

Don't you just hate selling PSP? Thank god they got rid of those awful PRPs...btw, what's your store shrinkage looking like? :D

lol.
Actually, I don't. I never feel like I'm selling it, because I never ask them about something they wouldn't need. I offer, and if they don't need it, they won't get it :)

PRP is good for prepaid phones, because if something goes wrong as it's a manufactuers defect, we can swap it out in store. Saves them having to send it in deal with shipping, blah blah blah. Also, goes for two years, and we know how phones always goes out right after the manufactuers warranty...

1 year extension for me as I'm paying month to month right now.

What's the Full/no contract price gonna be at BB?

The one year extensions I believe we can do, I know we can do them for sprint, but verizon is a different beast. I'll have to check into this one. I'll get back to you :)

we don't have the product in our inventory system yet, so no details on our full price will be. 599.99 Seems to be the norm though.
