Root Alldroid Motorola Droid X Giveaway - Nominate a Dev and Vote!

Hey guys, Alldroid is giving away a Droid X on launch day to a dev. If you're a dev, please apply to win the Droid X. You can also be nominated by your fans. On the 28th, all the Devs will be announced and a vote will ensue to declare the winner! This is posted in the root section of the Droid forum because most of the eligible devs do work for the Droid at the moment. Here's the original post:

Rules:

Who?
Any developer who establishes them-self at AllDroid by posting unique, or properly credited work and gaining "Developer" status (a 'role' assigned by admins) before the starting deadline.

When?
Starting June 28th, The list of developers will be announced, along with a poll on the surveys page to count votes from users. Winner will be announced on July 13th!

What?
A Droid X all yours at will waiting for your intentions.

How?
Contact B16 or Rainabba for entry as a developer on AllDroid.Org or to request developer status. After providing links and proof of work and originality, Developers will be given a forum and must post and support current development work for at least one handset of their choosing.

Where?
Only here at AllDroid.org! Just register to vote for the developer you would like to see gifted a Droid X so that they can begin developing for the community through AllDroid.org


Disqualifications: 1. Developers presenting unoriginal work (work with no substantially unique content or those not providing proper credit). 2. Developers caught persuading users to vote. Ex. A developer caught tweeting, posting on AllDroid or other forums to request votes, or using any other form of social networking to influence the results. The intention is that a developers fans will dictate the winner. "Developer" means any member of a development team if they are known to be a fully established member.

I voted for Koush because that will expedite getting Clockwork recovery on the Droid X and some CM goodness (Froyo, meet OMAP 3630...)


And if anyone can root the X, it's Koush. Afterall, he is the father of all Android root

I would either want Koush or Pete to win the Droid-X because Koush's clockwork is just magnificent as well as his roms and Pete because he has really been busting out the froyo roms lately and their great quality too!

In the end I voted for pete.

Stericson does nice work with Metamorph, I just don't think that he would be taking full advantage of the Droid-X. I didn't know he had such a large fanbase backing him.

(although if the rummors I'm hearing about the bootloader being signed on the X like it is on the Milestone, then all of this will be moot...)

That may not be true. I heard something about an sbf that will take the bootloader to an unsigned state. A little scary flashing the bootload though. If that messes up you got yourself a $600 brick

Yea I'm hoping that we will be able to, it is either that or hold out for the Droid 2 (and hope they treat it like the Droid 1)... lol... Does anyone know if the new Easy Root app is going to be able to work with the Droid? Might save us all a few "how do I root" threads

If the X cant be root the droid 2 isnt going to have any better luck. People in the know on Howard Forums have said all moto phones going forward will have signed bootloaders. Ive never heard of the Easy Root app so I have no idea.

Well that sucks... thank god by the time I'm looking at getting the Droid X it will hopefully be the BOGO deal so I will get the free one when my fiance upgrades so I won't be as scared to flash the bootloader

Android Guys had a feature yesterday on it, it is an app that some of the devs over on XDA put out (Koush worked on it)... It basicly will Root your phone, install a recovery, and do a nandroid all with the press of one button... (I didn't see the Droid mentioned in the phones that it worked for though...)
