Here we are clamoring for information on the one android phone that has a shot of competing against the Iphone4 and I'm certain their holding their cards close because they don't want to piss off Apple.

I really do wish those rumors from Bloomberg were true and Verizon could get an Iphone, then AT&T might stop bending over backwards for Apple...maybe.

Is there any ACTUAL proof that AT&T gives into Apple's demands (whatever they maybe  ) or is it ALL hearsay? I tend to think its the latter..

double post, I'll use this one and ask if there has been a release date?

That a Samsung rep was in yesterday and secretive and did not say anything about a release date. Also mentioned to my rep to check the AT&T Captivate site if customers have any questions.

Been there. My guess now - Mid August - Ughhhhh. Can we get a phone on AT&T released before it's obsolete please????

Of course there is no actual proof, but can you think of any reason for even regional carriers like US Cellular to get better devices than a supposed powerhouse like AT&T. When they refer to the top 4 that means these guys are the major carriers and should have the greatest selection and broadast coverage.

Can you think of any REAL reason that there has been such a delay in getting any type of phone to even match what came out late last year on other networks?

and please don't give us the "we like to thoroughly test all phones so we make sure we only put top notch products out" line...we already got one AT&T employee on this board, but at least he's open about it.

edit - I will add though that I dont believe it's all apples doing. though they played a major part. This is about AT&T wanting to sell more Iphones, be they 3gs or now 4s. They wanted Iphone to succeed to this point because that was their business model. It's not evil, it's just business. Unfortunate but true that it hurts people like myself in the long run because we don't want an iphone, but I'll be the first to admit we're a pretty small subsegment of the buyers market, for now....
