I just tried google voice recently, and i just can't make a call from my cell phone. Every time I select one of my contacts on my phone and dial out with google voice, it first display the right number but it soon will change to 602-633-4000. I don't get it. However, i am able to make a phone call with google voice on the computer, it will connect my phone and then dial the right number.

How do you guys dial out from your cell phone with google voice?

Sounds like an access number. If you use the built-in GV app, it dials out with access numbers.

What happens when you let the call go on? Does it connect you to the number you intend to call?

It's using an access number, don't worry though....the person receiving the call will have your number show up as the one Google assigned you. This confused me at first as well but i tried it on my wife's phone and although it was using different numbers on my end, my wife's phone was showing my original Google voice number every time.

I know. but i just can't dial out. It would just say I have dialed the wrong number. For every contact in my phone. Only when I type the phone numbers by hand, will it dial out correctly.

So ummm isn't anyone concerend with thier privacy using GV?

I mean saivng all your text messages with out the option to not have this done, and transcribe your audio calls. Sounds like some dangerous stuff.

Hmm. So Sprint doesn't save your text messages? Haven't you ever seen an article about prosecutors getting a subpoena to review a perp's text messages? Every cell phone carrier keeps copies of text messages on their servers. (The only exception is Blackberry, if you use their private text function. It goes directly to the other BB without a record on BB's servers.)

Also, you must know that all carriers have a record of your voicemails. If you thought all your info isn't already "out there," you are unfortunately mistaken. :(
