I updated my EVO this morning when I was prompted for the htc software update. my phone has been uncharged since 12:15 it is now 4:04 and my battery is on 59% Much better battery life. prior to the update if my phone was uncharged for 3 1/2 hours it would be on 20 - 25%. Thank you HTC.

I updated on the first day by 7:30 AM. Noticed the battery lasted all day without a charge. Surfing the net, listing to IHeart Radio while at work, talking 20-30 minutes and texting. Not in a 4G area. Bluetooth, GPS and WiFi on at all times. Performed eyeball test on how fast and smooth the phone was, vast improvement. Co-workers have other Droids, BB and IPhones, they were impressed with my phone's speed. I was very pleased with my phone before but now I'm bragging to everyone.

I updated around noon time yesterday and didn't see any change in my battery life. I have usually been getting 14-15 hours with light to moderate use. Is there some sort of reboot I should be doing?

No matter how many tweeks I try I just can't get past the plateau of 14-15 hours of light to moderate use. How are people getting 2 days?

What I do leave running:
- Background data - I use gmail quite a bit so I can't turn this off.
- TIKL
- Fring for occasional incoming Skype calls
- The weather channel app (NOT widget) since I live in NE and you jusy never know

I use Timeriffic to toggle Bluetooth for drives to work and Wi-fi when I am home
I use Advanced task killer set to auto-kill every 30 min and level is agressive

My battery is better, but when charging all night on the charger, I unplug and within 15 minutes Im at 93% then at 85% within 90 minute I dont do anything during those 90 minutes but unplug and get ready for work, and drive to work. I dont get it, but as a whole - the battery does great throughout the day....If I charge via USB cable to the computer or car charger, I dont lose that initial 15% for hours...

Its been discussed that it cycles between charge and drain when on the charger and "full." So if you catch it after its fully charged then it lets it drain a bit before charging again instead of running a trickle to maintain the top battery level.
