I currently have an iPhone 3g and I will be switching over to the Droid X once it comes out. I have a couple questions that I have been unable to find answers to. I listen to a lot of Radio on my iPhone. Is there an app that I can listen to local and national AM and FM stations? I currently have the ESPN, Dan Patrick and Ootunes app on my iphone that I use daily. I am just hoping the Droid X will have similar apps.

My other question is, I like to listen to Sherdog.com radio. It stream through the website. It appears it has a Media Player plug in that plays the radio stream. Will this be able to work on Android phones? I know it doesn't work on the iPhone but it would be awesome it this would actually work. Thanks for your help and I can't wait to get away from the iPhone.

It will

I doubt it will work on Android in the way you are describing it.

There are however other ways to do it. Basically, you can get an app that streams radio and also allows to add your own radio stream (paid version of A Online Radio for example). You can add the desired radio stream to the app and stream it as much as you want.

Check out appbrain.com It will show you all the apps from the market. I know that this wasn't obvious to me before I switched over to android from my iPhone and then discovered appbrain. This will at least let you get your feet wet on the apps available in the market.
