Is that "cool story bro" a jab at me? I was just giving our phone some credit since everyone is saying how great the X is..not that it wont be but our phone is great also.

Not at all a jab. Got in the habit of saying that to people lately. I like my phone now that it finally WORKS.

And no way, I love this keychain. Like I said, I have an extra Incredible lanyard though.


as a side note, I love the droid x eye live wallpaper on my phone. even with the massive flaw of the X being in it.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a tech reporter saying it based on her own opinion instead of using some type of benchmark test.

YouTube - Droid X benchmark tests

Honestly the X looks to be a competitor for the incredible. I out benched it in everything except video, and I also smoked the evo. I just did exactly mimicked the benchmarks this guy used. The video on the X is sick because its got GPU. But I was able to get 59fps steady in that gears test, which smoked the evo. To the evo's credit for this video, look at the notification bar when you can see it, and he says something up with the evo? Yeah everything is running in the background. Anyway, just food for thought.

Froyo will really level the playing field for all. I mean I think my INC is lightning now with 2.1 compared to everything else I have had in my hands.

They are both fast. The difference doesn't really matter to the regular user.

After the leap from the Hero/Eris, it's going to be very tough to WOW people now.

Thanks, I actually fixed the images up in these took out the X shape and stuff, but when i put it back in .apk, it wouldn't, install, can anyone tell me how to do that?

I wont deny Sense UI is smooth. And thats probably what she meant by lighting fast. I woulda ask her to install Launcher Pro or ADW and see if it makes a difference. Really with those 2 launchers, no one has to worry about laggy home screen scrolling anymore.

Someone showing a Need for Speed demo had Launcher Pro installed...lol

For me, the main issue is the call quality. Reviewers seem to be noting that X's call quality is very good. I need good call quality because all of my work phone calls get forwarded to the cellphone. Someone said the Dinc is getting an update. Had it come sooner, I probably wouldn't have jumped ship as it's a great phone, no doubt. Oh well. I'm a free agent, now.

I went to the Verizon store today and they had a dummy Droid X. same size, buttons and weight etc.. and honestly, I wasn't too impressed. Perhaps with a live screen I might be.. but the droid x is DEFINITELY NOT as sleek and smooth as the incredible. I am pretty sure the incredible screen looks a lot better than droid x (being AMOLED)... that is when not in sunlight. All in all, though the hardware for the droid x may be better than incredible.. it's not that mind blowing to look at. .. and yes.. it's pretty big and heavier than the incredible.

Just based on my wife's DInc (waiting for mine) I can't imagine anything much faster. Apps practically load instantaneously and even websites come up almost as fast as my DSL.

The only reason I like Droid X is some of the features "on paper"...longer battery life, 720 p etc. In reality if I shoot pics I use a DSLR or a real HD video camera, I use a car charger out of habit, and from time to time wear tight(er) jeans so I need a smaller form factor. The Incredible is arguably the best phone with an under 4" screen.

Well I mean, you can't really judge battery life until you've used it, so "longer battery life" seems premature at this moment in time. (Not saying it won't have a better battery life but at the same time I'm not saying it will either)

Bonnie Cha was referring to the UI that's on the X. Motorola's skin makes it appear as if its slower. The X Linpack's score is continually over 8 MFLOPS vs. the 6.8 - 7 the Incredible gets.

Benchmark scores really don't mean much and means nothing to the average consumer.

How smooth the phone works when you are using it for everyday stuff is more important and I bet that most people couldn't tell the difference in speed with the Inc vs X, they will both be fast.
