I don't know if this is has been covered yet or not, but I stumbled onto something this morning while half awake.

My alarm went off like usual this morning, but while reaching for the "Menu" button, my finger lazily grazed the track ball, at which point my alarm stopped and snoozed. 5 minutes later, the alarm started screamin at me again. My half-awake mind thought, "why don't we try jostling around that trackball again." So I proceeded to jostle. It snoozed.

So, in conclusion, you CAN snooze the alarm by moving the trackball (even just a little bit).

I've never had a problem with my alarm not going off. With 1.5, you used to be able to use the volume keys to snooze. With 2.1 it was thought you had to look at the screen and hit the small "snooze" button. But you can, in fact, use the track ball.
