Very new to rooting, as I haven't even done it, yet. Done a lot of research on it, but I don't know which process to pursue. I have stock 2.1. The links below are what I want to get on my Droid. Could someone please post a step by step for doing this??

Froyo FRF84B Build:
Download: FRF84B Froyo Droid Build with Dev Kernel - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
Droid X Interface link:
http://androidforums.com/all-things...e-0-3-droid-x-froyo-2-2-frf84b-6-30-10-a.html

(Again, rooting directions need to be for 2.1)

I would say dont ask to many questions before hand just take your time and read everything. If I can root anybody can but, I studied hard and read anything and everything from all the forums I could find. After a few days I felt as tho I was ready. I had zero complications your results may vary :) Good Luck

You could also try using these two videos as guides as you're rooting. I used them in conjunction with how-to threads on this forum and I was able to root my Droid in about 25 minutes back in April. The videos will also have the links to download all the necessary files. When you get to the part in the second video where it has you choose a 2.1 ROM, just substitute the Froyo ROM of your liking in its place. And feel free to ask for assistance in this forum. The help you'll get here is invaluable. One suggestion, though. Use the search feature to see if your issue has already been addressed. It will save you lots of time (you won't be waiting around for answers). Good luck! Here are the videos:
