I flashed to fresh .5.3 and found that I can no longer access my photos from the camera app. I can take photos but my EVO crashes when I try to review the photos. I get "The application camera has stopped unexpectedly. please try again" . I then have to force close. Is there a camera app that can be rewritten?

As far as the camera issue, did you do a data and dalvik wipe before you flashed?

If so try to use the fix permissions option in the Rom manager app. Then reset.

Yes I did the wipes. And did them again just to be sure. So what do you think is going wrong? When I do the wipes does the camera app get wiped and reinstalled again when I flashed .5.3?
Funny thing that this time after doing the wipes and flashing the new rom all my data was still in tacked. I did data, dalvix and sd.ex

Should I try again?

If your data was still intact then something went wrong. What recovery are you using?

I narrowed it down.

I started over and wiped everything, reflashed .5.3 installed all apps. Everything was working good. I then installed vanilla lock+vanilla apps-world clock. Thats where the camera app started to go wonkie. switched back to HTC lock screen and I was golden again. Something wrong with vanilla lock.
