Accessories Anyone with long-term updates on the Seidio 1750?

Hello everyone. I wanted to know if any of you who use the Seidio 1750 have seen improvements after a month or two. I was somewhat disappointed with the performance of the stock battery so I decided to give the 1750 a try. The first unit was defective and would only get me a 6 hour charge. I exchanged it and the performance is much better but not what I expected as it equals the charge time of my 1.5 month old stock battery which gives me about 12 hours charge. I expect it to improve over time.

My wish is to have my phone last the whole day with both wi-fi and 3g raidios on. My MotoDroid which I had since November lasts almost two days with both radios on and stock battery. I guess there must be a software bug in the DInc that causes such massive battery drain when both radios are on.

I have had one for a bit now, and I must say it is a vast improvement over the stock battery. Lasts me all day and then some.

Regardless of whether its a 1750mAh inside, what are you looking for in terms of "Long Term"?

Like battery life degradation over time?
How many months did it take before the battery stopped performing as it previously was ?

I don't have any of that data - just trying to understand what you're after.

I've used the stock 1300 battery, a TP2 1500 battery, generic TP2 1500 batteries, the seidio 1750 .
The Seidio is hands down the best battery that will fit with the stock door.

The TP2 battery is the best bang for you buck, it will give you a few more hours of use and can be had for pretty cheap.

That being said, I now use the 2150 vzw battery and it is fantastic. The seidio would get me from 7am to 11pm before it was under 10% the 2150 just for grins got unplugged today at 8am it is now 9pm and I am at 70% and this is only my 2nd day with the battery. Sorry that was off topic.

You won't be unpset if you buy the Seidio as long as you don't pay more then $35 for it. Ohh and give it some time t obreak in, the first few days with it are pretty pathetic at least for me they were. But after about a week of solid use it's life really jumped up. I've gotten as much as 35hrs (super mild use) with the 1750

+1 for the 2150. I can't emphasize enough that every Incredible owner should have one. It will change your life(or at least battery life)! With moderate usage and a ten hour work day, my phone will have 78-80% battery left by the time I get home at night.

I'm using my 1500 TP2 battery full time now over the 1750. It is every bit as good as the 1750 and came at a much lower price.

I have the Seidio and have seen great improvements as well. I used to unplug around 7am and by the time I left work around 4 it was touch and go. I like to use Nav to get home from work to see where traffic is on the beltway (outisde DC), and that was NOT an option with the stock battery unless I plugged it in at work. With the Seidio I can leave work with 40% or more, making it no issue whatsoever to use NAV on the way home.

I do still keep a charger at work though...

This battery is night and day compared to the stock battery. Anyone that needs more should be more concerned with their bad charging habits. I use my phone constantly and the stock battery always ran low by end of day. With this battery I havent come close.

I just received mine yesterday, i did a full charge, and then turned off the phone, and let it charge from orange to green (took about another 45 minutes to go from orange to green when phone was off). I hope i wont have to do that every time to get the full charge, and I'm hoping this battery will last me from 9am - 1am every day. The 1300mah couldnt do much justice for me, and i'm hoping the 1750 will give me the juice i need. I'm going to let it go down to 10% and fully top off for the next few days, and see if the 1750 gets better with time, and i will also shut off the phone to top off the charge for the next week or so.

Are you guys with the 1750, shutting the phone off after the light turns green ? and letting it charge again for 20 minutes or until the orange goes to green again? or are you just charging the 1750's normally and unplugging when the light turns green the first time ?

With Li-Poly, there really isnt a such thing as charging habits. YOu should be able to top off whenever you want, you should be able to let it get so low that the phone shuts off, and you should be able to top off when the battery is at 90% and it should not damage the battery in anyway, unless of course it's over 1 year old and the battery is actually suffering from "old age deterioration"

Lol I'm not talking about that kind of stuff. I mean people should charge their phones more and don't expect them to last the whole day, for example, putting the phone on the car charger when you are in the car rather than leaving it in your pocket. Bad habits.

So, Lithium Ion batteries aren't meant to be charged often ?

I am confused by your comment here. With no memory in Lithium Ion and very little waste capacity - The should take the charge from whatever percent to however long you charge it without any issue.

I can understand why you are getting confused by the way he said it, but I think he is saying that the bad habit is not charging your phone often. He is saying go ahead and charge the thing every chance you get so there won't be a problem. Btw peoples, with these smart phones, as much as we use them and the things we use them for.. I HIGHLY recommend a car charger!

When I have it in, it can get as high as 108 F when there's nothing happening on teh phone - just sitting on the table or in my pocket. Yesterday i recorded a 2 minute video, and it almost hit 115. I've stopped using it as my primary battery and emailed Seidio.

Those temperatures could damage the phone.

Your phone is engineered to take some pretty high heat but the thing that would concern me in that situation is that if the battery is heating up to that extent then something is wrong and this type of battery, when not manufactured correctly, has been known to explode. I would definitely get another battery from them for sure. Not to mention that in that situation the battery may be practically killing itself since one of the very worse enemies of these batteries is heat.

Which Battery Monitor are you using ?

The battery is spec'd to go up to about 60C (140F) as wall as the phone, so 115 is no issue. You're not hurting anything, at least from the heat.

I've had mine since the Inc was launched (taken out of my Eris). It lasts longer than the stock 1350mah battery. How much longer you say? On average with my usage about 2-3 hours which in turn gets me through my day without having to recharge

after several days of charging, and after several (phone off top offs) i'm starting to now get a full day out of it, without having to shut off mobile when i'm not using email or internet.
I used to shut the mobile option off while at work to get me thru the rest of the night, but now with the 1750, i am leaving mobile and getting the same results. In other words, it's lasting me all day and night, and allowing me to use the phone as a smart phone, not just a text message machine with a pretty display.

It takes MUCH MUCH longer to charge any phone via usb/laptop, and it's obviously taking longer to charge the 1750 via USB/laptop, so i'm using the wall charger to give it a constant voltage for faster power ups. It takes about 2-3 hours and i'm fully charged, and so far, so good. No overheating like others have reported, and no weird battery calibration issues. It's lasting me from 9am till bedtime which is anywhere from 12am-2am.

I only use youtube, internet, pandora right before bed anyway so by the time im actually draining the hell out of my battery, it's about to go on the charger anyway. i to like it, now i'm hoping for a 2500mah SLIM battery so we can keep the same cases, lol. but i guess a guy can dream can't he
