I love my Inc, but why lack of drivers

Ill start off by saying that I love this phone! Everything about is great. I read alot of posts on here about problems people have with theirs, however other than the head phone jack sometimes detecting head set, and the lower reception (still don't have an problems, however seems like lower reception) this is the greatest piece of technology i've ever owned.

I am just curious as to why HTC released this with generic drivers, as in the GPU and camera. It looks good for the company to be continuous improving their devices, however its seems like a no brainer to include the proper drivers when released, maybe if they did this they can focus on other things, like maybe a sense UI version of Froyo?? :)

What is generic about the drivers?

The camera driver is generic and doesn't make fully utility of it. The sensor is capable of 1080p recording at 30FPS, 720p at 60FPS, and WVGA at 120FPS. As it is now with the generic HTC driver instead of the Omnivision driver, we barely see 24-25FPS at WVGA.

The GPU built in to the Snapdragon didn't have an available proper SDK and instead has been running on generic code. Qualcomm recently released a better SDK for it so devs can make more efficient code so we see better performance.

In short, a lot of the hardware in the phone isn't running close to its maximum potential.

They probably released the phone before they were done with the drivers. If they didn't want to release the phone until the drivers were done we would obviously have the phone later. Froyo still wouldn't be done until after this OTA update anyway so it doesn't really make a difference.

That's is whats i was thinking. I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE MY PHONE!!! Anyone with me on thos one?
