What sprint phone should I get for my birthday

I'm 15 and my birthday is coming up in a week. My dad says I can get any phone I want on sprint. I used to have a palm pre but it broke because of its crappy build quality. My dad has an Evo and says I could get one too if I wanted. He also says I could wait for any other phone if I wanted. I'm pretty geeky so I'm not your average consumer (I go on engadget and tech blogs regularly; I've also rooted phones before). My question to you guys is should I get the Evo or wait for another smartphone such as the epic or something?

Epic 4g with 4 inches of super AMOLED and 1ghz of hummingbird power. Also if you like gaming, the gpu on the Epic 4g is the best availible for an ultra smooth experience. (dang i sound like a salesman lol)

Cant go wrong with the Evo either cause it is currently the best phone out imo. I played with it at best buy and was very impressed and that huge screen was drool worthy

Taking into account that you are 15 (not 25 ;)) if you are into games and want to play them on your phone, the epic looks like it will be more designed for that than the EVO (going from Sprint's preview of it and from threads on this board saying the EVO isn't so great for gaming. I am not a gamer myself so no personal opinion either way). OTOH if that is not a big consideration and you want your phone soon, the EVO is a great phone, and I have no regrets going for it.

Personally I came from the Moment (is the Epic the next generation of that?) and there were lots of issues on that Samsung device -- more than on the EVO. Also I would THINK that the Epic would be a thicker phone because of the qwerty (the moment was), so that might be something to keep in mind as well.

You said your dad has an EVO? Have you played around on it? If so, then ask yourself if you really like it. If yes, then get the EVO. If no (or you want a qwerty or better gaming) maybe wait for the Epic. Hope that helps!

Take it from me, a former HTC user
get the Epic 4g.

It is supposed to do pretty much all the evo can do plus has a lot more added features on it.

Build Quality might be an issue like your pre, only not as bad as palm but still build quality with HTC is a problem.

My best friends wants an epic....

Supposedly samsung doesn't support their products but I honestly don't think you can go wrong with an epic :)
