Help Light leakage.

Are you talking about the 2 bright spots along the bottom edge?

I can only see them when I am looking at the screen from a greater than 60 degree angle, with 90 degrees being looking straight down at the top (power button, headphone jack)

This doesn't bother me, and I don't consider it a hardware defect.

Yes, that is what I am talking about.

But I feel you can see them with a less then 60 degree angle.

(I will get a picture though)

yeah that does seem worse than any other ive seen...if you want to be that anal about it then youd have to try and get a new one...dont really see it as a fixable option ...just dont be suprised when the vz rep looks at you like youre crazy :)

also...it doesnt look like your screen is flush with the top of the buttons...my screen goes perfect with the buttons...no gap at all

Mine has the same light leakage, I honestly never noticed it until I saw this thread, since im never going to be using the phone at the sort of angle it requires to see the light, I think im good :D

And FYI, there is also a black mm space/gap between the screen and the home buttons on my phone, just like the pictures.

Pictures 2 & 4 are similar to what my first one did. My second one didn't show any light leakage at all at those angles. If you are looking directly down, like in pictures 1 & 3, I think you are always going to see something. It doesn't affect the functionality of the phone, but if it drives you nuts, then maybe you should trade it in.

That's not really light leakage, you are just seeing light from the 4 touch buttons. Light leakage is when you actually can see light coming out of the sides or top/bottom of the screen. What we are doing is looking at the inside of the screen and seeing the light source for those touch sensitive buttons.

So do you think what that mod is saying is a joke? (Just asking)

First of all being a mod has nothing to do with what he is saying. Secondly it doesn't change the fact that what we see on the DROID isn't true light leakage. I had a iPhone 3G and that had it, and you could see light coming out of the side of the screen onto the casing. What is happening with the DROID is we are seeing the back light for the 4 touch sensitive buttons by looking inside of the body. If you have a truly defective DROID with a gap between the screen then you should return it, but mine is perfect and I can still see it when looking at certain angles.

Thank you for your insight.

yeah, mine looks just like that, if you arent looking pretty much straight on then you can see it but i'll be honest i really never notice it when using it, i feel like when you use your phone its either straight on or angled the other way, my advice would be to use it for a few days (without focusing on the light) and you'll probably realize that its not a big deal, so far every droid i've seen has had the leak so if you return it your prolly gonna get one with the light leak anyways
