Root Custom 2.1/2.2 ROM for X10 yet?

I've got an iPhone 3GS right now and I am thinking of getting the Xperia via trade so I can have a badass Android phone and an iPhone 4, but I hate Sony's proprietary UI and I want stock or sense 2.2, as we all know 1.6 blows...

How can I know when the root is available for this.. I thought pretty much any phone could be rooted the same way, didn't know it had to be done separately for every single phone.. @_@

It is rootable, so you can remove the SE crap from it, just havent got bootloader access yet to load custom roms/more up to date roms.
I personally sold my iPhone 3GS to get an Xperia and havent looked back. Even with 1.6, it's not that bad. The only good thing about 2.1 coming later, means I wont get bored of me phone as quick, which i'm prone to doing. Hopefully for me, it'll come out just as I get bored, so will put a new lease of life into it.

Unless I'm wrong, I believe most manufacturers have their own user interface right? or at least their own software so you have to wait for them to upgrade?

Which is pretty dumb as nobody would want Dell to make its own version of Windows 6 months after it's been released, it would be ridiculous...

Except X10 has the only UI that actually means exclusive and useful applications instead of dumb memory hogging crap like Sense UI.

Ahh and of course, X10 is still sports the best design on the market.

I would still prefer to have them as optional installs. I don't use any of the SE apps...

It's definitely not a deal breaker though.

For the rest of us -people work in jobs other than flipping burgers - Moxier is one of the most useful preinstalled app - it's my #1 used app as it syncs my entire corporate (Google Apps Premier) account (via Exchange sync.)
It's pure awesomeness for people with real jobs, using their phones for more than a pretty toys, I must say.

Umm... I have a job that doesn't entail flipping burgers and I don't use Moxier. Oh wait, I'm on AT&T which doesn't use that application. It's this kind of ignorant behavior that keeps people from uniting. Let's be nice, maybe?
