Battery life sucks since 2.2(Froyo)

Ok, I have to give an updated response. I dont know what it was about the first day but so far yesterday and today have been totally different. Actually today has been awesome. Ive been using my phone for over 12 hours and it still has 50% battery life left. Thats completely more than I could have hoped for in the upgrade.

I am much happier with the phone now and my mouth is full of shoe.

I had battery issues as well, then I stopped a few things like the GPS location feature,( I think that’s what its is), I also darken the screen from full brightness I took it down one notch, I also used the *#*#43 ........ code and changed the radio to Auto PRL, now I can go a full day with the battery on moderate use, few calls few SMS, some browsing, a couple of widgets going on the back ground,(soccer scores) I also have a widget to turn WiFi on or off, and only turn on wifi if I know the network is active. Now battery last the whole day no problems. I do carry a spare for emergency and did not need to use it since the 2.2 update

My battery is best its ever been on latest Froyo touch wood.

Been screwing around with phone loads, used bit of gps, bit of speedex, browsed, about 45 min of calls and it lasted 19 hours!!

Im happy.....i also bought a poratble small charger which you charge usb or mains and it can charge the nexus battery 2 times! only

during that time do you listen to music ? or watch youtube videos or any videos ? that is a battery killer on any phone .

Nope...I've gone back to my iPod for music since the 5 hours scare me >_>;; And I don't watch videos or youtube. the 3 hours I was on the phone, I was simply on AF or reading an e-book or on the MSN app...nothing that I consider MAJOR battery hog.

I'm on 2G with GPS off...

Something I have noticed...my WIFI is also bad...well not as good as it was. I left it on overnight with the phone in sleep mode, in 6 hours (when I unplugged the phone) it went down 15% (before it'd be 3%) and 5% was WIFI (left it on just to see how much is being used by wifi). With 2.1 my WIFI would show a 3/4% drop with 16 hours battery life.

I cleared my cache setting...but still not seeing much battery improvement.

reading an e-book, MSN app, so interacting with the touchscreen and keeping the screen 'awake' all the time, the apps may not be a MAJOR battery hog, but maybe the consequent use of them is.
By the way, I think GPS only activates when an app that requests some location is active

Yes, but this is how I regularly use my phone for and it'll last around 16 hours...now it's 5 hours with the same activity. I'm going to uninstall some more apps...I'm still thinking there's an app that's not playing nicely with 2.2.

An oddity I noticed last night, that it seemed the battery was still charging even though it was 100% full...when I had it plugged in (after it is fully charged), the phone was still REALLY hot (around 40 degrees). This has never happened to me before, when I left it plugged in (after being charged). I'm not sure if it's still charging...but it FELT like it was. Is anyone else experiencing this?
