hi guys,

although this is my first post i have read up extensively on this topic so please be kind....

why doesnt any android email client have a decent push notification system??? if gmail and google talk can push so well then why cant my microsoft exchange work email?? i have it set to push yet i have to go to my inbox and wait for sync in order to get most the messages, thats not push its pull email!!!

also, eveyone mentioned how k-9 was a great email client that used push, I set up my work email on it and it didnt even allow me to change the push settings, only the pull! wth!!!

does anyone have a similar problem? maybe its because i make the phone go on stand by (black screen) after 30 seconds, but ffs im already charging this phone (HTC desire) twice a day!!!!

Push e-mail works fine on my phone actually -- are you sure it's not a server issue? I use the stock e-mail application as well as Touchdown (largely because Android 2.1 doesn't support the Exchange calendar or HTML e-mails). Touchdown doesn't have the greatest UI but I'd recommend giving it a try... there's a free 12 day trial.

It's something with your setup. I'm using my Droid with my Exchange account via ActiveSync (and Touchdown) with no problems. Did you configure your mail client to actually use ActiveSync (if available)?

For PUSH to work "Enable Always-On Mobile Data" needs to be enabled in the phone's settings.

There are no "settings" necessary for PUSH, not sure what you are looking for there. Only thing to "set" is if k-9 follows the phones sync settings or overrides them.
