Two things i'd like to be able to do...

1) Remove the names from shortcuts/folders. I've tried FolderOrganiser (Lite) but either that feature is only on the pay version, or I can't find how to do it.

2) Change the Icon for a HTC folder created. I've added a folder to the homescreen and added quick message and quick dials to them. Now they're just boring folders. How can i change the icons?

- I've looked at folder organiser, but if you create quick message shortcuts in a FO Label, it has "message" over the persons face and doesn't look as good. (* EDIT: And it force closes everytime you try and send a text)

Once i've sorted this two things...I'll be a happy bunny. (For another couple of weeks until i decide another change) :D

Yep, that worked a treat, so simple when you know how. I would never of thought of adding as a widget.

Do you know why when i change the icon for "Messages". I add it to the home screen with the new icon and it quickly reverts back to the HTC Icon?? I've seen someone mention this before, but for the life of me can't remember which thread.

It's a shame, the only way to get a quick dial without their name underneath is to add a widget like above and select Quick Dial. It covers their picture with a "M" and "Call", which makes their image useless.

If you add a contact, their picture is fine, but it just opens their contact page, not to call direct.

So i'm kinda at square one with my new design so far.

I wanted nameless quick dials, shortcuts and folders, with new icons for both shortcuts and folders.

I've just tried this and it works for me without "M" or "Call" covering the picture. I have a picture of my contact on my homescreen and when I press it it automatically rings them without having to press anything else.

Is that what you want to do?

If so here's what I did:

Go into FolderOrganizer and select shortcuts / menu /new shortcut / direct dial / select contact / choose default action (call home or mobile).

Then go to homescreen and add widget as above but choose from shortcuts rather than apps.

If you use the above method of adding the messages app as a FolderOrganizer widget then it doesn't revert back to the original icon like it did before.

I think the only way to do it is by setting them up within a new label in FO, then adding the label with the changed icon as a widget and removing the text. It sounds as if that's what you've already tried and there was lag.

Also when I just tried doing it that way it did have "call" over the pictures as you had before. Since these are within a folder and not directly on the screen that may not bother you so much.

I suppose it is giving the phone an extra process to deal with by going through FO, which could be causing the lag. Have you got a lot of contacts in the folder?

Not many contacts no, i noticed the difference with only 3 in there.

If i can't get them in without the "call", i'm not interested, as it looks funny, i'll stick to the boring folder icon with HTC. Shame you can't drag the ones created on the homescreen without names and "call" into the folder.

I've got half way there to how i want it looking, so i'm happier. I'm sure i'll change it all around in a month or so. :) Will still keep those HTC folders though, so if anyone knows how to change the icon or remove the text for them, i'd love to hear it.
