Problem with SIPDroid and Gizmo5

I'm trying to use SIPDroid with my Gizmo5 account. However, every time I try to make a call it says "dialing" and then a second later says "call ended". It does this on both wifi and 3G, no matter how much signal I have. I've double-checked all my settings and they're all right. Does anybody have experience with this issue? How do I fix it?

Also, search over at code.google.com/p/sipdroid. For example, I think this is an explanation of your issue:
Issue 221 - sipdroid - 1.2 and 1.2.1 instantly drop outgoing calls, 1.1.8 works fine with same options (gizmo5) - Project Hosting on Google Code

The GV app is not able to dial out lately. Initiating calls from the web site still works though.

In my experience, you cannot use the official Google Voice application with this VoIP setup. Evan Charlton's GV app (some call it the unofficial Google Voice app) is a different story. It should work. But it doesn't appear to be working at the moment and Evan may not continue working on GV in its present form. I assume what you mean by "the GV app" not working is the unofficial one. Hopefully it will work again in the future. (The official one won't support true VoIP calling, so that's not just a temporary issue.) Using the website in the mobile browser works really well, especially if you have your contacts organized well.

BTW, have you tried using a headset with this Sipdroid setup yet?

i've tried using Bluetooth with Sipdroid which would REALLY be nice, but not no avail. This was about 2 months ago. Maybe tomorrow i'll try again since Sipdroid has updated several times now. Who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky!

Have a great evening! :)

Yep, I use the unofficial GV whether with sipdroid or not. It's currently not working in the setups described above. The Google Voice app isn't even comparable at this point.

Headsets are still not working with Sipdroid in my experience. Be sure to report any problems you find at Issues - sipdroid - Project Hosting on Google Code

There are already a few people reporting bugs related to headsets and Sipdroid, so you could also add your comments to those bugs. That will help get them fixed quicker. Just go to the link Issues - sipdroid - Project Hosting on Google Code

I think I found the current problem with the unofficial GV. I got it working last night on the emulator. It's a very easy fix - just a couple lines of code. Any other developers want to help me fork this project so it will continue to be a viable alternative to the official app?

Thanks, MountainX. The Google/Sipdroid page mentioned above basically says that BT will not be fixed. i would like to take that to mean that they "can't" fix it yet because the BT api (i think this means something like a program) is not fully functional yet. i would hope (here we go again) that when Google or Android or whoever is responsable for the BT api gets it more rounded-out, that Sipdroid will then proceed to find a way to integrate BT into their program.

So, to make a long story short -- have a great morning! :)
