how to remove e-mail data. . .

I am receiving a low space message on my phone.

I looked through the applications and I noticed e-mail is taking up 37mb. The clear cache button is greyed out.

I deleted all inbox, outbox and trash. Powered off the phone and it is still using 37mb

Any help or Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am down to 7mb free and the phone wont even let me sent txt because it is too full

first of all... which mail client are you looking at? are you looking at it in manage applications? Are you rooted? what custom ROM are you running?

I know that looking in my phone under manage applications, the HTC Mail client is eating 3.4mb of space and I never used it.. Looking at Gmail, I have 2 listings, one for the app one for Gmail storage.
if you're rooted, try getting a cache cleaner app such as cachecleaner or cachemate. you'll be surprised at how much space you can recover. If you're rooted you might also want to look at running Apps2SD.. OR get rid of some of those apps you installed but never use (I just did that myself)

I am using HTC e-mail connecting to my verizon fios e-mail account.

When I look at MAIL (HTC corporation) I show 36.88mb in use.

I am viewing this information from the managed applications utility built into the phone via HTC

I am currently running DC 2.09.01

I had this same issue. I tried everything. What I ended up having to do is a full wipe and put all my apps back on. The issue was in the HTC Mail program itself. I was using a version of Fresh when this happened. After I wiped, I did not have this issue again.

I had this same issue about a month ago also. I did a full wipe and of course that solved it, but I am having the issue again.

I went from DC 2.08.1 to dc 2.09.01

I was really hoping not to have to wipe again.
