Incredible, X, or Time?

Hey guys,

I've had an Eris since about the week of release (1.5 to 2.1) and I LOVED the phone, however, I'm the kind of person who is on the phone doing stuff (Usually procrastinating :p) all the time. The battery isn't really an Issue with me because I'm generally near a charger throughout the day.

After having this phone for as long as I have, I've begun to get frustrated with random little freeze-ups and slow typing/dialing and just general lack of speed. I was planning on grabbing an HTC Incredible when they become available again at my local stores and giving my Eris to a friend. From what I've read, the 1Ghz processor is a HUGE deal.

With that said, all of the sudden this new Droid X pops on the market, and after reading/watching the review (Motorola Droid X Review | Android Phone Fans) I'm REALLY wanting that one now. I know it lacks HTC, but I haven't really had the best experience with HTC anyway (I always reverted my eris back to stock android home).

My problem is this: I see things and I get all worked up and think it's the greatest thing ever. Unfortunately, I discovered the two phones so close together I haven't had time to come down from my "Gotta Have It!" high haha (they're pumping them out too fast!!). I don't know which to choose between the Incredible and the Droid X.

I want to know what you guys think; Should I get the Droid X, Incredible, or wait for another phone to come out?

(Also, that HDMI out is a really nice + for the X)

Thanks Guys!

I love the incredible and am not a fan of Motorola by any stretch of the imagination. In my mind there is no need for dual core cpu's, the 1ghz is more than enough from me. And personally even if inc had hdmi out i would never use it so that doesn't come into play for me either. Love the screen real estate of the x and honestly if the evo was verizon then thats what i would of got. Happy with my incredible for at least the next year!!

do not listen to that guy. there will always be something better on the horizon.

and don't order an inc if you want the phone within the next month. X is really your best bet at this time.

ain't that the truth, there is always a better phone on the horizon.

If you don't mind the size and want a mini-tablet like phone the X is a good bet, if you want more pocketability than the Incredible is a better choice.

1. Amoled screen is something you cant be sure of getting with Inc if you order now.
2. Isnt X camera an 8 mp?

I'd say go play with EVO or X at the local store and see if size is worth it to you. I hate the bigger size. Incred is almost too big.

Then either get the phone you want or wait 6 months, then another 6 months, then another 6............................

For my 2 cents, i love incredible and will keep it until it dies or my 2 year is up.

Actually, the preorders on the DX are beyond it's release date already. However, many places such as Amazon have the DI either in stock, or very quickly. If you look around, you can get the DI a lot quicker. I've also heard of Best Buy and Wal-Mart having the DI in stock lately.

I pretty much agree with what others have said though. If you can wait a couple weeks and don't mind the size: DX is probably the better way to go. Also keep in mind, it will be a brand new phone...so there will be kinks that need ironing out, and it will be awhile for root.

well the incredible is a bit faster. And if you want a bigger screen with motoblur and a 5mp camera go with the x. But if you want an amoled screen with htc sense and a 8mp camera go with the incredible (the better choice)

The incredible is faster? This thread must have been started in the Dinc section. Saying it's faster is not correct.

I think there are a lot of hardware advantages to the X, including the three-mic solution and the processor. Also, I prefer the size and the design (without having held the X) of the X as the Incredible feels -- to me -- to be a bit too small and delicate. I appreciate quality design -- eg the new iPhone looks great even if the antenna sucks -- but I think the X is the more sophisticated hardware/design. I think HTC makes a solid product and historically Motorola stuff isn't the greatest (battery life), but I hear the X battery life is awesome.

Whatever you do, figure on taking advantage of the 30-day return policy if you're not 100% happy. My guess is regardless of which one you get you'll be happy.

Good luck.

All of the advantages the X has plus more. I just sold my incredible on ebay because of touchscreen n1 type issues, plus the battery life sucks, and it always had a cheap feel to it. If the screen size is an issue got for the DI but just be aware of what you're getting into. Also, it's only 30 bucks more to do a one year contract so you can jump ship if you need to.

Think you got your facts wrong with the X. The X got a 8mp cam with a mechanical shutter, does not have motoblur, and has the same processing speed as the inc but i believe that the processor is superior to that of the inc. And the Incredible is starting to be manufactured without the amoled screen.

I'd say go with the X because what is the point of a phone that you can't have a conversation on? My inc had terrible call quality. But overall was a nice phone.

well the X is faster, has an 8mp camera not a 5mp and isnt running blur so maybe do a little research before you spread around false information

I'm having the same issues. I called Verizon with a question and they told me I was eligible for my upgrade 3 months early. And went on to try to sell me on preordering a DX and didn't mention the Inc which I thought was odd.

So I'm just trying to do as much reading up on all the pros and cons. HDMI out seems like something I'm not going to use but it's very nice to have. Size might be an issue for me though ("that's what she said," let's get that out of the way). But again I'll have to reserve my opinions until I can get a trial on both units.

Opted for the DroidX today, mostly to get rid of the damned and doomed Moment. That thing is so buggy and flawed I/we couldnt stand it any longer. Fortunately, the level of hell and hours of calls to Sprints tech support got an early contract release. After 6 months of 2 years i just couldnt imagine putting up with that POS for another 18 months
