We gotta wait till just before Christmas for some FROYO?

I hope that means for ALL of the phones on the upgrade list and not for them to just start rolling it out. That is FAR too long..........

Been trying to hold off on that Root. If Froyo isn't here by August, I'm going through with it.

Also, it would be pretty pathetic for them just to be rolling our Froyo when the new devices will be coming out to crush the current crop of phones.

Sprint was pretty clear in their Twitter post a week or so ago that it would be coming very soon for the Evo.

How does sprint define very soon though? To you and I very soon may be a month but to sprint very soon could mean 6 months.

I am not trying to rain on peoples parades here, just trying to express that people read into things too much and expect things to happen on their schedule. We need to have realistic expectations for updates and "just before Christmas" sounds reasonable after reading a quote from HTC.

I am gonna have to say, keep hoping. I am calling late October at the earliest with November more likely.

Well, keeping in mind that no one but Sprint and HTC really knows the answer here, there are 2 factors I think put pressure on HTC to release a Froyo OTA sooner rather than later. 1) Sprint did say 'real soon'. That may mean 6 months, but I just don't think even Sprint thinks 6 months qualifies as 'real soon'. 2) EVO 4G is getting some serious competition from Motorola and Samsung...they want to keep selling these handsets and need to keep the product fresh. A quick Froyo update is one of the best ways to keep the EVO 4G relevant.

Having said all that, if it turns into a Christmas time frame, I'll be a very bitter man.
