Flashing Eris to Metro PCS

Just finished completely flashing mine with the same guide. Everything works perfect. Although there are /some/ data issues when connecting to the market. You have to hit retry a few times, but that is about it. The browser works perfect. I would suggest checking with dealers who flash as opposed to corp stores. The people at corp stores know nothing. I tried dealing with them for about 2 weeks, presenting them with legitimate information, and they were too stupid to realize all they needed were some drivers. Just be sure to call before hand and ask how much it should be to flash a phone. Some dealers jack up the price to $50, but I found one who was charging $20 like the corp stores.

Straight Talk may or may not work eventually, when people figure out the network settings, and find a way to spoof their phone as another phone.

They're not nearly as strict as Verizon/Sprint with the serial numbers of what phones go on their network, but they won't ACTIVATE one that isn't the kind that they want you to activate.

It may be possible, like T-Mobile, to tell them you have a different phone than you actually have.

I'm standing by for this one, because it LITERALLY uses Verizon's service 100%, and would be way cheaper.
