I find it amusing how many Senseless ROMS are popping up. The majority of all ROMS thus far are Senseless and I don't really get it. The main reason I sold my MotoDroid to get the HTC Incredible was for SenseUI and now everybody is wanting to ditch it.

I neeeeed more Sense roms to play with and theres just nothing to choose from. SO I figured I would start a poll and see if I am the only one. So is it a Sense or Senseless ROM preference? :)

This is my first Android so I don't know anything but Sense. I think people always want to have what others have, so you get senseless roms, iPhone wannabe roms, etc. Don't know why. If you didn't want sense, there are other options out there. On the other hand, there are people like myself who don't know what Android looks and feels like without sense, so for us its kinda cool to be able to try vanilla roms without using other handsets.

Are there? I don't know of any besides the MotoDroid or the Nexus One. I don't particularly like the form factor of the MotoDroid and it's starting to get dated. I don't like the networks the Nexus One is on. I really wish the N1 had come to Verizon or Sprint as originally planned.

I don't dislike Sense, I just don't find what it adds necessary, so I'd prefer to just run stock Android. Stock means less system overhead, faster updates straight from Google, and no carrier customization. Android is open source and I love it for that, but I wish Google would encourage more handset makers to just use the stock OS. Maybe once they bring the UI improvements things will start trending in that direction. Certainly using the stock OS would mean less development time and cost for the device manufacturers.

I really like this!!

I also really like the idea of Sense and would be much more likely to stick with it if I could adapt the look of Sense more to my liking!

The Wallpapers and Widgets and Icons are actually perfectly acceptable to me, but I would like the ability to change my dock, lock bar and even my task bar. Experiment with different colors and themes.

LP, ADW and Helix aside, what all the "Home Replacements" have are Themes!! Themes would be key...

***I would like to see Sense go the way of Lockbot to a degree...(For those who do not use lockbot, you can customize your lockscreen to look like Hero, Eclair, Froyo, X10, etc...) This might make me go back to Sense and the ability to change it up from time to time.

When I had my MotoDroid I had purchased all my widgets to match Sense. Beautiful Widgets, Weather Widget Donate , Pure Calendar and Agenda widgets. I had my Home setup as close to Sense as you could get.

The I got my Incredible and didn't need any of the widgets I had purchased anymore. I have never even installed them on my Incredible because the Sense widgets are far greater than any of the wanna be sense knock offs. I have purchased and used several home replacements as well and liked them but I just gotta have my Sense Widgets at the end of the day.

Of course I have tried most of the Senseless ROMs because I feel its important to keep up on ROM development and watch as these beasts evolve into everybodys favorite ROMS but I could never stick with them for more than a few hours before I start to get the Senseless willies.

Now if we had more UI's to choose from like maybe Blur ROMs or TouchWiz ROMs I would be all over them but I seriously beat Vanilla Android completely to death trying to change it for 7 months on my MotoDroid and I have no desire to go back.

Yea i think Google should get a hold of the "fragmentation" they dont think exists. htc is turning sense into a closed source UI, effectively becoming the iOS for android. kinda defeats the purpose of Google's mission towards a completely open OS. cant even pull the widgets from sense. only reason i say this is because my view of a perfect rom is legitimate vanilla (not sense with sense removed) with sense widgets and some apps (phone/contacts and music).
Verizon doesnt have a good lineup of androids with vanilla on them. so far just the droid....kind of upsetting google put out a great OS and us verizon people cant even choose to use it unless we go through all the trouble of root, recovery, build a rom, and work out a million bugs just to get the camera and gps working. we're stuck with sense and motoblur (bleh).

I tried a Senseless rom.. I could not handle it, I tried for days to find apps/widgets that would do what the Sense widgets/apps would do. I couldnt find that many.

What I did find was that Vanilla is totally useless (to me) and I also found that most apps in the market place were low quality crapware(in my opinion).

I went back to SenseUI and I do not plan on going back to Vanilla anytime soon.

+1 There is something "Incredibly" purdy about the Sense widgets, the dockbar, and the pinch/zoom out for the multiple home screens that I just can't do without.

I've tried the other roms, and Froyo is nice and all, but I am waiting until a Froyo+Sense rom before I switch and keep it.
