That would be great, but I believe the Moment's successor, the Intercept, is rumored to be released on the 11th. I suppose it's possible for both to be released on the 11th, but I would think it's unlikely.

I think you are right.

The sooner the better, but I am still hoping for mid August.

My second line just became eligible for a full upgrade two days ago, so I am chomping at the bit and ready to get a new phone...lol.

at least this displaces all the rumors that Sammy and T-Mobile had some sort of temporary exclusivity for the American versions of the SGS.. now we can hope that the epic is not too far behind
my only hope is that the explanation for this alleged amoled shortage is because of this huge launch by Sammy in 110 countries, I would like to be guaranteed an epic through pre-order, but as long as I can get one by the end of august, with a super amoled screen, i'll be happy; i sure as hell hope they don't choose to start replacing them with lcds like they did with the incredible

Quote from and Engadget post relating to the Samsung Captivate on AT&T:

"Still, all four US nationals are getting this thing in July, which is an extremely impressive Android coup for the boys and girls over at Sammy."

Rumors of T-Mobile having exclusivity of this phone was thrown out the window about a month ago when the Captivate was announced.

I really do wish sprint would hurry up and do it already!!!

Sitting here wanting to move from ATT to Sprint, was going to go for the EVO, but really do like the AMOLED screen of the Epic and trying to wait.....and, wait....and, wait....., but I have to tell once those Verizon and ATT Galaxy S phones come out, it is going to get harder, and harder, and harder!!!! :)

Yea i wish they would announce already too. Unfortunately sprint isnt very good at this whole process. They seem to like to wait until the phone has lost the momentum of the unveiling and then announce a release date. Then that phone will hit stores a month after that. Knowing sprint it will come out a day before the white Iphone 4 thus causing all hype and sales to go in the toilet. LOL....... Just like releasing the Palm Pre and Evo right before Apples WWDC. Come on sprint, get it right this time and make us all happy proud Epic owners.
