I was #2 on the list for my BB store in Ct. When I called yesterday to see if they were going to call and set up an appointment, I was told that since there were only 6 on the list, I could just come in and pick it up. This could be an abberation, since I understand that other BB's have a lot more orders. PM me if you want the store info.

This is true, but the procedure is to call and set up appointments the day before for the preorders, just to make sure there isn't a crowd at the door and you don't have to get up early to wait in line

If you don't call you the day before, I would go in. But it's normal procedure for us to call the day before the launch and schedule appointments.

Just because people say it's a great phone in forums and blogs, it does not mean that many "normal" people even know its existence. I would ALMOST guarantee that if you go to the store in the morning of the launch you will get it.

If I get a fan discount, and I make a preorder appointment to pick it up. Do I have to do the fan discount on the spot or can I go into any store/kiosk a few days later to take care of that? New customer btw.

We can't do them in store unfortunatly, that is something you would have to do at a store or online. Online is usually the easiest
