Hi there everyone,

Well my title says it all, but I thought I'd elaborate on my experience with the Incredible a little and tell you all why I came to the conclusion that the X just may be a better choice for me.

Loved the Incredible - had it delivered to my work on launch day - made the switch from T-mobile. Had the Seidio extended battery on day 1. First weekend had amazing battery life. Over 10 hours awake time and 24+ hours up time.

Shortly after however, I began to notice a dip in battery life. Significant dip. 5 hours awake and 12 hours up. Exactly half of what i was getting. Maybe it was apps, maybe it was the battery. Either way, it stunk.

Fast forward about a month where I bought an extended battery for a TouchPro2, exchanged one Seidio 1750 battery for another (2nd one was worse) and countless tests later -- here I am. FED. UP.

Droid X is announced and I decide to go for it instead -- stay within Android and on Verizon, win win to me at least. So I put my Incredible (& accessories) on eBay on Monday and it's sold in 4 hours!!! Wowza -- shortage!

Been keeping up with the reviews and here are my hopes for things which Droid X will address:

  1. Battery life -- I just need to not worry about it so much!
  2. Better Call Quality -- some calls sounded like they were under water
  3. No grounding issues -- major annoyance in the car!!
  4. Lack of awesome accessories available (car dock, desk charger, etc)
  5. Build Quality - the Incredible felt a little cheap and plasticky to me
  6. Faster Upgrades (to Froyo and beyond!)
  7. Critical Mass adoption (just like original Droid so we can have hacks, apps, and accessories made to our heart's content!)

What I'm giving up:
  1. AMOLED - Man I loved that screen!
  2. 6.6 gigs of internal memory for something other than apps! (Media comes to mind...)
  3. That trackpad I never used (except on rare typo corrections)
  4. Sense UI - It was pretty cool, I admit
  5. There are probably more that I haven't mentioned!

I don't need much to be happy. Just give me Android 2.1 or greater, some good battery life, and great hardware and you've got my ca$h.

Any other former Incredible owners about to make the switch? Why are you making the move to the Droid X? Post your experiences!

What I'm giving up:
  1. AMOLED - Man I loved that screen! Atleast you wont have to worry about shortages
  2. 6.6 gigs of internal memory for something other than apps! (Media comes to mind...) Comes with a 16gb card that you can store stuff to
  3. That trackpad I never used (except on rare typo corrections) bigger screen makes it easier to get the right place on the text
  4. Sense UI - It was pretty cool, I admit. slows down updates as the companies have to modify the newest android to work with sense
  5. There are probably more that I haven't mentioned!

I don't need much to be happy. Just give me Android 2.1 or greater, some good battery life, and great hardware and you've got my ca$h.

Im making the switch i need a bigger screen and call quality is pretty bad to be honest. The incredible is a good phone but the X just seems to be an all around better phone

i gave up my incredible because i am addicted to technology.
so to justify spending (i dont need to but i like to be sensible) i like the bigger screen. it will help in my computer business and with showing off :D
the better battery is nice, like the OP said, i dont like to worry about it.
AND its the newest thing out on verizon. so, i NEED it.
sold my inc in one day on craiglist. other things im looking forward to is the speed increase!
the inc was fast but it been said the x is faster! so thats gonna get my work done...faster!
also, my son is going to go CRAZY!!! he`s four and addicted to chris brown. so watching video on it he will be in heaven!
i cant wait for that :)
also, i played with the EVO a few times and man...once u hold a bigger screen on a phone, its hard to go back to your small screen. it feels lacking. so all this combined, i sold my inc to get the x.
now....i wait....

I cant do it!! The incredible is a much better looking phone in my opinion, Froyo will give it 720p video recording. They make a dock for it and a gps mount and cases and Motorola didn't offer anything better on the accessory side, its not as if it had iPhone quality accessories and until Motorola or HTC decide to put the usb input in the same location on all its handsets, it will never happen!!! My Original Moto Droid had some serious call quality problems, callers would consistently complain that my voice sounded gargled or muffled to them and it became very annoying ! The incredible isnt perfect but I like it and the HTC Sense UI is very nice, the build quaility of the Moto Droid was better but until it's owned by androidforums users and they post their experiences, i'll wait but after hearing whats coming before years end I doubt ill make the switch... Come On Dual Core Phones !!!!

I'm making the switch as well, I just couldn't resist the 4.3" screen! I put an ad on craigslist offering to trade my Inc + cash for the X, I got a response within 48 hours, the guy is #4 on the BB pre-order and were meeting at a VZW on launch day. I cannot wait to get my hands on this bad boy!

The main reason I'm doing it is the 4.3", better build quality, timely updates(hopefully) & better battery.

Sorry to high-jack the thread, but how much have you guy's been selling your Inc's for?

No worries, I was wondering if someone would ask me that ;) Sold mine for $500 on eBay -- could've gotten more since mine was snapped up so fast. I also had a lot of accessories (extra battery, Steinheil screen protectors, leather holster, silicon case, etc.)

Any others? How much did your Incredible get on re-sale?

God im on the fence.(i cant believe i said that) but im also wondering. my two biggest gripes is the battery and not being able to see the screen in sunlight. I do however think the X is kinda ugly looking and am not sure about its size. i do love the Dinc but i do wanna be sure- i have to the 18th of july.

i do use the speaker a lot to listen to music so the X has to be as loud. better battery. and i want to make sure i like the layout as i love HTC Sense UI not really sure what the X looks like ... im a total newb so im trying to learn.
