Help does the storm chargers work for the incredible?

The voltage is different and I saw a post that it screwed someone's battery up. I haven't tried it for that reason.

Thanks for joining the discussion, Mr. Phone-Charger Salesman. The voltage is the same (its a USB standard, after all). The amperage may be slightly different, but well within tolerances.

I don't think I've even used the HTC charger once with my Incredible because I already had Storm chargers plugged in around the home and office. My phone hasn't blown up, melted, or given me swine flu. Yet.

Yeah, the voltage on the Storm wall chargers is fine. It just needs to be higher than the phone's battery. Remember that the phone handles the charging, all the adapters do is provide the juice. Excessive voltage might be an issue, but 5v is not excessive

Amperage is a bit low on the Storm wall "charger"(700mA) but that is a bit over my head as to whether it is an isssue on the Inc or not. I have read that the Motos didn't like it, but (as always) be careful what you believe.

Obviously all the USB based accessories are interchangable.

I gave all of my cradles away....now I wonder, is it possible to dremel one of these bad boys down to the INC's size? Any body try this? If I still had one I'd try it but I guess I've given the last one away.

I've got a BB cradle, I've got access to a Dremel, but no chance I could pull it off and make it look even close to good.

It's just doing that because it recognizes it as a phone, and your last phone was a Storm. Just rename the drive to Incredible, or whatever, and you'll be fine.

Unless it's launching the blackberry desktop manager, then you got me...

Actually I think it is calling it "Blackberry" because when you use a SD card in a Blackberry it formats and names the sd card "BlackBerry". To get rid of it or have it called somethign else you will need to format and rename the SD Card. You may be able to just rename it but I think you have to format it first. Good Luck!

The stock HTC charger is 1A (1000mA) so 700mA is actually a down grade. It'll still get done, just take longer. I use a lot of 500-600mA chargers and when I actually use the stock charger again, it amazes me how fast it charges.

This is also why it will take longer to charge over USB from a PC. Only 500mA or so. All microUSB chargers will output the same 4.9-5.1v, it just depends on how much current they can provide. Also, don't worry about using a higher Amp rating. The phone will only pull as much as it needs, or as much as the charger can provide.

Whenever I'm forced to charge my phone via USB on my Netbook I feel like time stands still
