The Radio Shack Saga Continues. I Get A Call Today....

from the Mgr. of the Radio Shack store two days after they swapped out my handset insisting she knew nothing about the employees swapping out my Evo that Sprint did the service replacement on. She says "quote" you have to bring back my phone!!!! my employees should not have given it to you its not yours. I say well they gave me a receipt for it it has my phone number programmed in it ahhhh you must be mistaken it is my phone. To make a long story shorter I asked the kid who swapped out the phone to give mt the district managers number because the way it went on Saturday I figured this thing could still go sour and it turns out that I am right. Now I get a call from the district R/S Mgr and he is insisting I have to bring the phone back and he will get the Sprint store down the street to replace my phone, we go round and round on the phone. Finally I tell him OK I will give you the phone back but I don't want Radio Shack to make a commission off of my contract since you are kicking me to the curb. I told him to call his Sprint rep the one he says is going to get me another EVO from God knows where and the only way I will give them back the handset is if they completely back out the contract refund my money and they arrange for a new phone at the Sprint store down the block with a totally new contract starting on that day. I called Sprint and they said they would cancel my contract with them under the circumstances. Now Radio Shack stands to lose the commission on my contract plus the now used EVO that I have been using they are going to have to refund me on. He went silent and I hung up on him. More to come stay tuned!

No offense (lol) or anything, but you're pretty annoying. I don't think very many, if any at all, care about the shenanigans you are posting about. Sorry, but it's true.

I think its very informative if someone is looking to purchase a phone from Radio Shack.

If you don't like what I have to say just dont read my post. Its just that simple. Please put me on ignore.

my friend purchased her EVO at TheShack, it was smooth as glass. Based on the fact you went through 4 (going on 5) EVO's in a month, got a free month of service and still bitch, its you that has the problem. Do everyone a favour, Just go away.

No. When a mod closes a thread and OP insists on opening a NEW thread cause HE wants to keep talking about it, I think we have every right to object.

That's what the report post button is for

I think having 4 evo's shows theres an issue with the buyer not the store or the phones, my take, is you an axe to grind with RS , because most after say, the 2nd issue would of moved the sale to sprint or given up on the phone.

Never heard of anyone going through so many phones in month? even in the "Pre" forums

My experience with RS just perfect!!!

NO BODY could be this unlucky

Wow...you have alot of patience. By my 3rd swap, I would have returned it if it was before the 30 day return policy and just wait for BB or another retailer to have more in stock.

I had no idea this was going to go so wrong I thought Radio Shack would be reputable. I wish I would have pulled out early now for sure. If they want the phone back I will give it to them no problem but they will have to terminate the contract and refund my money. I don't want them making money off of me for the rest of the time I'm with Sprint. I did get to finally talk to the right person at Sprint today that fully understood the situation and noted in my account that RS might try to charge off the handset to my phone bill and Sprint would fully refund any charges.

So if I don't agree or support the OP, then I shouldn't comment? The OP has just as much right to not read my comment as I do to not read his. I suppose I could put him on ignore, but that is really addressing the symptom to a bigger issue. Why does this self-proclaimed "saga" have to continue with new thread after new thread? Search for the list of threads started by this guy in the Evo subforum alone. 53 different threads have been started and do you want to take a stab which redundant issue headlines a large number of them? I understand a necessity to refrain from personal attacks, but you can call someone out without insulting them. Interpersonal relationships and communication has been a reoccurring theme in his threads, normally pitting the Sprint and Radio Shack representatives as the unreasonable parties. I don't see how forming the opinion that it might be the OP that is unreasonable goes against any site rules.

My $0.02

Hopefully whomever didn't like it, didn't read it.

How is it they can even try to get you to return it?

Tell them to call the cops and report it stolen if it is truly their handset.

Exactly what I was thinking. Don't go through the hassle of canceling the contract, returning the phone, driving to sprint, reopening a contract and re-buying a phone. Just keep the one you have. They gave you the phone AND a receipt, and once you leave that door, it's yours. Tell them to call the cops if they want it back, and you can show them the receipt that its yours.

Mainly the personal attacks and the "this thread is dumb" kind of statements are what I'm referring to (having read the other threads already I KNOW they will/would pop up).

If you question the OP's motives, feel free to PM and admin or mod to look into it. :)

Is there any sort of tracking as to who which OP has the most closed threads? Might be sort of interesting to see.

The only reason threads like this get closed is because people don't like what they read and lash out... which is not acceptable the OP has the right to vent, if you do not like the topic don't read the thread and don't post negatively in the thread because we will discipline the negative posters and close the thread and then the cycle will only begin again.... Let the OP vent and move on....

You know you are absolutely right. Why am I even talking to them? I have the phone and a full new receipt from them, they really don't have a leg to stand on. Thank You, After seeing it in words here it has all become clear I should just let it go and tell them to go blow.

that is, of course, if this Evo doesn't have any problems. And if it makes you feel any better, I did the exact same thing. RS replaced my phone once, and I had problems with that phone. They told me it would be at least 2-3 weeks for a replacement, so I called Sprint and they sent me another brand new replacement. Of course, this one has problems too, and I am now waiting for my 4th evo to come in the mail.
