Lets us peek at your Screens!

Wow, most of you guys really love either launcer pro or adw launcher. Can someone briefly tell me what the difference is? I just dont see much difference between those and the stock/sense. And i actually like the big clock widget.

What I like about ADW is gestures and you can change how many icon rows/columns on the homescreens, up to 8x8(which let's you adjust the size of widgets as well). I have gestures set up to where if I flick up it opens previews, flick down anywhere brings down the notification bar. Which is nice because it's quite a reach to the top of the screen with a thumb. The dock bar has the four slots then the app drawer button in the middle. You can pull this up for another row of icons you can set. Also might be more overall customization options than with Launcher Pro.

Launcher Pro has nicer animations fading in and out to and from each app, and the 3d app drawer(ADW has a couple app drawers you can choose from though, I like their Galaxy S drawer, as well as setting app drawer background transparency). The best thing about LP it is the scrolling dock bar which let's you set up to 15 icons.

A lot of good things on both of them. For one thing with both you can set it not to show icon labels. You can set how quickly a screen moves when you move to the other, how much it overshoots if at all..etc. Also both rotate into landscape on home screens. Basically both give you a lot more functionality and customization than Sense, and IMO just look better. After awhile that Sense dock thing on the bottom looks ugly. As far as the flip clock, you can get one that looks EXACTLY like it called FancyWidgets. Not in the market anymore but you can find it.

read the walkthrough, im using XP and the hardware window wont popup. Im not stressing about it.

I'll try the MAC method when i get home.

you mounted you phone and have sdk already extracted. did you enable USB debugging on your phone?
On the device, go to the home screen, press MENU, select Applications > Development, then enable USB debugging.

after that open the SDK folder on your phone. click tools ddms a first screen will pop up.. wait a few seconds a second screen should pop up.

yeop and nothing. Work computer is dumb.

I had to install HTC sync for mine to register with the "Found New Hardware" part. Then it wouldn't show up in the SDK application until i downloaded all the resource files within the application. After they downloaded, it still didn't show up until i unplugged/plugged my phn back into the PC.

question: is anyone having luck with text/call/mail notifications in launcher pro on the dock? i have it set but it doesn't seem to work.

Nice layout. I could never cram everything I need into one screen and 15 dock slots..lol. As for the notifications, they work for me..Even with Handcent instead of the stock messaging app.

thanks, yeah its not everything i use. but it's most things i use while at work. i have been changing just about everyday so i'm sure things will change. *wishing icon packs wouldn't show up in the drawer*

i still get my notifications up on the status bar, but nothing on the dock :(
