I just got a message that Astro is only in beta and will expire in 2 days. Does anyone else know about this? will they be offering a new beta or a free version? if you have to pay for it is it worth it, or is there another free file explorer (not in beta) that is as good or better?

There is always ES File Explorer basically the same deal, no adds (yet), and smaller footprint. Oh, and was never advertised as a Beta, so if the day comes to update to better, ad supported version, you can stick with it. But, it is good to support your dev if you REALLY love an app.

I think I like the layout of this one better than Astro. Good find.

Hmm I wasn't aware of the alternative (EStrong's). Looks pretty nice. The only thing I don't like about ES so far is how slow the image thumbnails display when scrolling through an album with a lot of pics in it... Astro is very fast with this... I dunno, maybe I'll just keep both and see which I like better over time. I don't think the ads in Astro are reason to say "OMG UNINSTALL" because they're not very intrusive, but I do like having alternatives and seeing which is best for me. We shall see! :D

Thanks for mentioning ES - never knew about that one.
